I suppose it's the "Hey, I'm *paying* for this, so I better get something GOOD out of it" syndrome.
So glad this doesn't really apply to public schools. Though some people still think it does...
Interesting tidbit, I've had one kid tell me "you should make anime club run for more than one lunchtime per week because you're paid through our school fees to do that!"
I replied, "no I'm not, anime club is a voluntary thing."
And then he stopped bugging me with that reasoning. =w=
Well, back when I was still in dentistry, it was NOT fun to convince people to trust your judgement. They all seemed to insist they know what's good for them, and get really annoyed if you tell them their ideal treatment would cause all their teeth to fall out...
I just couldn't stand them anymore. Jars of chemical and bacteria are more civilised.
I imagine that people litigate when they feel they have been screwed out of something they are entitled to. So you're dealing with an indignant customer to begin with.
That's why I like IT. All the indignant people are on the other side of a monitor, far far away.
