VS Arashi - 2 July 2015 (2hr Special / 1st half / Guest: V6)

Jul 07, 2015 00:36

I decided to translate this because I had some time on my hand, am kinda jet lagged and will fall to the temptation of sleep if I don’t do SOMETHING with my time so… Here I am.

Well, this episode was certainly a dream come true :’D Ever since VSA started and especially after Kanjani8’s epic guesting, I’ve been praying and hoping for all of V6 to appear on VSA together. A dream collaboration indeed T^T

======
I got lazy here and there so when they spoke too fast or spoke over each other, I didn’t really bother to translate. If no one laughed or anything, it can’t have been anything very important or funny :> Forgive me.

Also, I decided not to translate all the narrator’s comments during most of the games. If anyone said anything worth noting during the game, I translated it, but other than that, I’m just too lazy… ^^;

I wanted to colour code this translation, but I must have messed up on the HTML somewhere or LJ just hates me. Anyway, for those not familiar with either group and/or their nicknames, or those who (like me) use Jun interchangeably for both MatsuJun and Okada, here’s what I went with:
V6: Sakamoto Masayuki, Nagano Hiroshi, Inohara “Inocchi” Yoshihiko, Morita Go, Miyake Ken:, Okada Junichi
Arashi: Ohno Satoshi, Sakurai Sho, Aiba Masaki, Ninomiya Kazunari, Matsumoto Jun (+ Imada Kouji)

Lastly, since I ended up taking longer than I expected, I was rushing in the second half and I kind of really have to sleep now or I’m gonna be a zombie at work tomorrow. I might proofread this tomorrow… or maybe never. If there are any errors or whatsoever let me know.

V6 VS Arashi: Johnny’s Juniors Supplanting Seniors in a Battle Without Honour and Humanity
(TN: I couldn’t think of how best to order the title but… You get the idea, I hope?)

INTRODUCTION
Sho: It’s the “Juniors Supplanting Seniors in a Battle Without Honour and Humanity” Special today, so our seniors, V6, have kindly agreed to appear on VS Arashi as a group!
Box: in high spirits at V6’s first appearance?
Sho: There may be some people who might be thinking, “could it be?”, but what we’re wearing now is what we wore when we were Jr’s
Jun: Nostalgic, huh?
Sho: V6, our guests today, are the seniors who let us backdance for them all those years
Nino: We are grateful
Box: from the DVD “Pace-from V6 Live Tour ’98” - Ohno Satoshi (age 16) - Sakurai Sho (age 16) - Ninomiya Kazunari (age 14)
Sho: We definitely have to win!
Arashi: Of course!
Sho: And so, without further ado, let me introduce our guest opponents for today! Come on out!

Sho: Our guest opponents for today are the members of V6!!!
Box: Okada Junichi - Miyake Ken - Morita Go - Inohara Yoshihiko - Nagano Hiroshi - Sakamoto Masayuki
V6: Thank you!
Sho: First of all, you’re all wearing your stage costumes, aren’t you?
V6: That’s right!
Inocchi: So nostalgic!!!
Ken: You’re right!!
Nagano: You guys look good in them!
Sho: It was something like this, right?
Box: reenacting the scene
V6: Yeah!
Inocchi: You guys! Hurry up and get to the level where you can wear clothes like these!
Arashi: YES!
Sho: Thank you!

Sho: Before we begin, there’s that! This year, it’s V6’s 20th anniversary! Congratulations!
Arashi: Congratulations!
V6: Thank you!
Telop: Happy 20th Anniversary, V6!
Sho: Are you confident you can winning against us?
Inocchi: What do you think, Okada-kun?
Okada: I’m confident!
Inocchi: We wouldn’t lose in the teamwork department, right?
Okada: We’re your seniors, you know!
Sho: Go on, go on!
Box: these two are the same age and the senior-junior lines are blurred
Sho: Tell him, tell him!
Okada: Let’s make it clear who’s the senior between the two of us, shall we?
Ohno: If I win, you’ll have to wear this!
Box: this dispute has taken an unexpected turn!!
Sho: This is bad!
Nino: We can do this!
Jun: Sounds good!!
Sho: Things are just starting to get fun, but please treat us well!
V6: Please treat us well!

Sho: Moving on, let me introduce the guest who will be fighting alongside us tonight, our special plus one guest! Come on out!
Box: Imada Kouji
Sho: Our special plus one guest is Imada Kouji!
Imada: Hey, V6. It’s been a while, V6.
V6: It’s been a while!
Imada: Since “Magical Brain Power!!” (TN: a show in the 90s where Imada and V6 were both regulars at some point during its run. V6’s first guest appearance on the show was on 25 April 1996, hence Nagano’s next comment)
Nagano: From the time we debuted!
Ken: Nostalgic!
Imada: I mean, those three were such kids back then! Real brats, those three! When we were filming the show and the director yelled “cut!” they came and kancho-ed me! (TN: kancho is a prank where you stick your index fingers up someone’s asshole)
Sho: Such kids!
Imada: That’s right, but today it’s a “Juniors Supplanting Seniors” special right? Arashi backdanced for V6, right?
Arashi: Yeah.
Imada: Can you still remember the songs from back then? The choreography? Shall we have a go? Let’s see you dance!
Box: Reenacting the times when Arashi backdanced for V6!
Sho: Which song exactly?
Masa: Hold on, we’re kinda nervous about this too
Sho: Here? Behind?
Imada: Yes!
Nino: Eh? Are you serious?
Imada: Then, let’s begin! Can they still do the choreography? Music, start!
Telop: Take Me Higher (1996)
V6: Amazing!
Box: 16 years later, the birth of a dream collaboration!
Sho: Our bodies just moved on their own!
Inocchi: We’re having a tour this year too, so come dance for us whenever you want!

KORO KORO VIKING
Jun: The first game is “Koro Koro Viking!”
Narrator: V6 vs Arashi! The battle begins with “Koro Koro Viking!” V6 will go first! So, Sakamoto-kun!
Masa: Yes!
Narrator: As their seniors, you definitely don’t want to lose, right?
Masa: yeah but, you know, I’m kinda worried, actually. This orange area is kinda like an important area, right?
Narrator: It’s a really important area indeed!
Masa: I mean, we’ve been together for 20 years, but… I’m worried about the person across from me!
Inocchi: Will it be okay?
Ken: Sakamoto!
Masa: Oh?
Ken: How many times do you think I’ve been on this show?
Masa: How many times?
Ken: 5 times, you know! 5 times!
Nagano: 5 times!?
Box: this is his 5th appearance
Sho: That’s an amazing number
Ken: Just so you know, they call me every new year! This year, and last year too! They call me!
Masa: You really love Arashi, don’t you?
Ken: Every year they call me!
Nagano: I watched it on TV, and the previous time you appeared too, and each time all you did was cause trouble for Arashi
Ken: TV programs have to have some drama, you know?
Inocchi: We don’t need drama this time, ok?
Ken: Okay, okay
Narrator: Inohara-kun, do you mind?
Inocchi: Yeah?
Narrator: Do you have any lasting memories from your time with Arashi when they were juniors?
Inocchi: Eh, lasting memories?? On the contrary, Arashi may remember that time better than we do

Telop: Sakurai - Inohara - Memory
Sho: For me, when I think of Inohara-kun, I remember how Inohara-kun sang “Furyou" (TN: can’t find much info on this, since the only thing seemingly relevant is that V6 apparently sang this in their 1995 tour, but it isn’t listed as an Inocchi solo so idk. Anyway it was originally an Otokogumi song, cuz as you know, when JE groups first start out and don’t have many of their own songs, they cover songs from their senpai groups), and during the song there’s a part where it’s like Inohara-kun is getting hanged. It wasn’t me, but some of the other juniors were laughing at something else, right in the middle of his solo. After the concert ended, Inohara-kun came barging into our dressing room, “what the hell were you all doing, laughing while I was dying out there!”
Nino: What a mean senior
Inocchi: So mean!
Sho: But we were in the wrong!
Inocchi: I’m sure you have your reasons but is that really all you remember of me?

Narrator: What about you, Miyake-kun, any memories?
Telop: Miyake - Arashi - Memory
Ken: Arashi… Well, I mean, all of them… Ohno, Ninomiya, Sakurai, Matsujun… Eh? One of them…
Box: Eh!?
Ken: I don’t really remember him, just Aiba-kun
Sho: Yeah, and Okada-kun in that corner looks like he’s making the same face as you
Ken: Was he there?
Okada: Hmm, I don’t think he was there, was he? I only realised Aiba existed after Arashi had been formed
V6: Yeah, that’s right!
Aiba: All of you…
Inocchi: How about you, Aiba? Do you have any memories of us?
Aiba: Well..
Telop: Aiba - V6 - Memory
Nino: Say it, say it!
Aiba: At NHK, I was having a really bad stomachache, and I was about to go into the toilet. Inohara-kun came running, “Oi! Me first!” and went in first
Nino: Horrible! That guy is horrible!
Inocchi: All these weird anecdotes coming out one after another!

Sho: Speaking of NHK, can I say something else? It’s about Sakamoto-kun.
Telop: Sakurai - Sakamoto - Memory
Masa: Yeah
Sho: NHK had those idol shows every week, right?
Masa: Ah, yeah, they did!
Sho: One day I passed Sakamoto-kun, probably after finishing recording, leaving just as I was entering. So I said, “thank you for your hard work today!” and he was like, “it wasn’t hard at all!”
Masa: I’m sorry!

Narrator: Well, we’ve heard some of V6’s mean episodes, but can they show off their senpai-ness? Let’s get going! Koro koro viking, start!

Nagano: This is bad!
Narrator: V6’s score is 80 points!
Ken: Sakamoto-kun! Sakamoto-kun! You’re getting all happy but it’s a really shitty score, so…
Masa: Really!?
Inocchi: But we had so much fun!
Nino: I’m sure you did!
Inocchi: It was really fun, wasn’t it!
Nino: Sakamoto-san, I don’t mean to be rude, but did you injure your left leg?
Box: How??
Nagano: Was it because you moved at the wrong timing?
Masa: This thing moved on its own in a completely different direction from where I intended it to
Ken: No way!
Masa: It was YOU!
Sho: They’re fighting!

Narrator: Koro Koro Viking, now it’s Arashi’s turn!
Nino: Yay!
Narrator: Matsumoto-kun, V6 got 80 points…
Jun: Well, I’d like to start with a dash
Narrator: You’re paired with Imada-san, and Imada-san is pretty experienced in Koro Koro Viking…
Imada: I’m an experienced Koro Koro Viking player. Somehow, when it’s the 6 of us, I exude the feeling of being a member (of Arashi)
Jun: That’s fast
Box: Does he?
Ken: You don’t!
Imada: I haven’t met V6 at NHK, but I did try thinking of some memories, wondering if there were any to bring up, but there weren’t any!
Narrator: Then, Sakurai, what is your target score?
Sho: Well, I guess we should try to double their score, so around 160 points
Masa: But can you really?
Ken: Well, but those guys have been really bad as of late (TN: well Ken’s right - they’ve been losing on almost every episode of VSA recently!)
Box: As expected of a VS Arashi freak
Imada: You’re well-informed!
Arashi: He’s been watching!
Sho: Ken-kun… From long ago, like 10 or more years ago… He’s been supporting us all this while, you know!
Ohno: He comes to watch almost all our concerts
Sho: All of them!
Imada: To watch?
Masa: You’ve been going to watch them, haven’t you
Nagano: So you’ve been going to their concerts so you can appear on VS Arashi?
Ken: Yeah, I’ve been very straightforward about it
Sho: He’s been watching us all this time... Ken-kun is amazing

Sho: Ohno-san, do you have any memories of our big brothers? After all, you did a stage play with Inohara-kun, didn’t you?
Inocchi: Ah, we did a stage play
Ohno: Umm, but I only have good things to say
Sho: No, no, that’s fine!
Box: why didn’t you share those good stories?
Inocchi: Say it, say it!
Imada: Why didn’t you share them just now?
Ohno: The atmosphere was… (TN: i.e. everyone was sharing stories of V6 being mean)
Sho: Let’s hear it then
Telop: Ohno - Inohara - Memory
Ohno: It was the first time I got to do a stage play
Jun: You played the same role, right?
Telop: PLAYZONE 2001 New Century EMOTION - Triple Cast - Matsuoka Masahiro - Inohara Yoshihiko - Ohno Satoshi
Jun: Yeah, it was a triple cast (TN: I’m not really sure, but it seems like Matsuoka of TOKIO, Inocchi and Ohchan all played the same character in different performances, so viewers could choose which of the three they wanted to go see and buy tickets accordingly)
Ohno: Yeah, so, I guess I was still pretty shy about getting into character
Imada: When you’re embarrassed you can’t act, right?
Ohno: Yeah, and Inohara-kun totally didn’t have any shyness or any of that shit, and could get totally into character and go all “WAHH”
Imada: You didn’t need to say “shit”
Sho: He was just trying to explain, I’m sorry
Ohno: But I guess Inohara-kun knew, and he said to me, “You’re still embarrassed, aren’t you?”
Imada: Still shy and stuff, right?
Ohno: Yeah. Then he said, “It ain’t acting if you don’t lose that shyness”
Inocchi: I said that, huh?
Ohno: And with that, I was able to lose that shyness
Imada: Ah, because of that piece of advice from your senior
Inocchi: You had only just debuted, right? As Arashi.
Imada: He was only in his teens

Sho: Speaking of our debut, Sakamoto-kun was always with us, all over the country
Masa: I was the DJ at their events.
Imada: Really?
Masa: Yeah. I would call for Arashi to come out and the song would begin
Nino: He would call us out
Sho: It was wonderful, wasn’t it
Inocchi: Why don’t you relive those times and introduce Arashi like you did back then?
Box: It’s been 16 years!
Sho: That would be amazing! This is amazing!
Nagano: DJ MASA!
Narrator: Sakamoto-kun, if you please!
Masa: Now, everyone! Are you ready? Come On! ARASHI!
Box: DJ MASA is back!
Sho: How nostalgic!

Narrator: Now, will Arashi be able to call up a storm? Let’s get going! Koro koro viking, start!

Imada: Ahh, they went into all sorts of weird places
Narrator: Arashi’s score is 140 points!
Jun: Because we got some minus points
Inocchi: In the first half you got 3 balls into the 50 point zone, didn’t you? When the ball went into the -30 zone, all of us went “ahhh!”
Nagano: We were cheering you on as if we were watching you on TV, like, “come on!”
Imada: You guys are too nice!

BANK BOWLING
Nino: The next game is “Bank Bowling!”
Narrator: Bank Bowling, first up we have V6! The first players will be Inohara-kun and Sakamoto-kun!
Ken: Go go!
Narrator: Sakamoto-kun, your juniors have taken the lead
Masa: Yeah, but Inohara is pretty good at bowling so…
Inocchi: Yeah, yeah. All of us in V6 love bowling so… And Morita-kun, how many balls do you own again?
Go: 7 balls!
Box: owns 7 balls
Imada: That’s amazing!
Nagano: What was your high score again?
Go: About 290?
Box: owns 7 balls - high score 290
Nagano: For real.
Sho: 7 balls… So you change between them? Is there a difference in their use?
Go: Based on the condition of the oil on the lane
Imada: The condition of the oil!? That’s the first time I’ve heard of that
Ken: It’s different in the morning and evenings
Imada: This is bad, huh? So, do you bring Arashi out to drink and stuff? Sakamoto-kun? Inocchi?
Masa: Well, Inohara…
Inocchi: Well, actually, about that, I have some things I need to apologize to Arashi about
Imada: Inocchi, you seem to have a lot to apologize for today as it is, so…
Inocchi: Well, this is for Ohno, from when we were doing the same stage play. We went out to eat together once, and I got all passionate talking about acting as we were drinking alcohol. And I got too passionate, and was like, talking, crying and… Vomiting.
Telop: Inohara - Ohno - Apology
Imada: Whoa, you suck
Nagano: So troublesome!
Imada: What a troublesome senior to have! What was it like?
Ohno: Well he was crying, and all, “I really want to tell you this! Hold on, give me a second…”
Inocchi: And I did a number of movies with Arashi
Telop: Inohara - Arashi - Apology
Box: PIKA*NCH LIFE IS HARD BUT HAPPY (TN: yes, all those Pikanchi movies are based on Inocchi’s life!)
Inocchi: Well, basically Arashi acts in these movies based on my youth. And they wanted to hear about my stories so…
Imada: The real stories?
Inocchi: Yes, so we went to a yakiniku shop. And Matsumoto was the only one who couldn’t make it, but this kid is really hardworking, so he got the rest to bring a walkman and ask me if they could record my stories for him. Well, I got all passionate talking again
Imada: AGAIN!?
Inocchi: And we were drinking lots of makgeolli (TN: Korean alcoholic drink) in addition to talking…
Imada: AGAIN!?
Nino: In the second half, all that walkman recorded was, “makgeolli really works, huh!”
Inocchi: But even so, when we actually did the filming, he was perfect at getting into the role! So I guess he managed somehow or another!
Narrator: Thank you for that splendid episode! Let’s move on, Inohara-kun and Sakamoto-kun bowling first for the V6 team!

Masa: We didn’t do too bad!
Narrator: V6 scored 109 points!
Inocchi: It’s not really about how good or bad you are at bowling, since there’s that making it different
Masa: They might collide into each other, right?
Ken: They collide sometimes
Arashi: Yeah
Masa: This isn’t your show!
Box: As expected of a VS Arashi freak
Inocchi: You know it so well

Narrator: The second bowlers will be Miyake-kun and Morita-kun! Morita-kun, who owns 7 balls!
Go: yes!
Narrator: You must be pretty confident, right?
Go: At the very least, I want to get the red pin
Narrator: The red pin, huh? Well, at this point, when he was a junior, Sakurai-kun saw something of Morita-kun’s that surprised him
Sho: For most of us, we have stage drinks like sports drinks or just water
Nino: Yeah, to drink when you’re tired and thirsty
Sho: From far away, I saw that Go-kun’s stage drink was a crunchy carbonated drink
Telop: Sakurai - Morita - Something Surprising
Go: I drank that, didn’t I?
Sho: Right?
Nino: What about now?
Go: Even now, even now
Nagano: Yeah, he does
Ken: He freezes it you know, just a little
Go: Yeah, yeah
Sho: He freezes it?
Ken: If you freeze it, then it’ll still be cold even 2 hours later
Box: We’re talking to Morita-kun right now…
Nagano: He’s talking like he knows everything about him!
Ken: You can ask me anything!
Sho: Can you just get it straight from the freezer?
Ken: Yeah, it’s best when it’s a little melted
Nino: Umm, excuse me…
Sho: I was asking Go-kun!

Ken: We ended up being in sync, huh?
Sakamoto: Hey, you guys came back too fast!
Imada: What is up with those members!

Narrator: Bank Bowling, next up we have Arashi! The first players will be Imada-san and Aiba-kun! Aiba-kun, this is your chance, isn’t it!
Aiba: You like bowling, don’t you?
Imada: Bowling?
Nino: Ah!
Aiba: Right!?
Nino: We met him, didn’t we!
Aiba: We did!
Imada: What?
Nino: He definitely likes bowling
Aiba: Ninomii and I went bowling together, and Imada-san walked in like this with a bunch of juniors behind him
Imada: Ah, umm, Ebisu, right? (TN: Ebisu is a place in Tokyo… “Ebisu Garden Place, clock tower square, 1pm” ring a bell? :p)
Aiba: Yes!
Imada: Ah! I went there!
Aiba: Right?
Imada: I went there for a time!
Nagano: So they saw each other!
Imada: Did you talk to me then?
Aiba: Ah, well, we were still unknowns back then, so we thought we’d better not go say hi, and so we hung back
Imada: Unknowns!?
Nino: Yeah, and you didn’t bowl at all, but just stood in front of the jukebox like this and putting money into it
Ken: That’s gross!
Nino: He kept doing that!
Imada: I kept requesting songs?
Nino: All the while! We were like, “That’s Imada-san, right?”
Imada: In that case, I was probably looking for Morning Musume’s “The * Peace!” I really liked that song
Nagano: But it wasn’t in the jukebox
Imada: It wasn’t! But yeah, I did go there for a time
Aiba: So you must be pretty good at bowling, right?
Imada: I’ll be fine!
Aiba: Okay!
Imada: But, rather than being good at bowling, I was just looking at the jukebox so…
Sho: He didn’t bowl at all
Nino: He didn’t
Narrator: Imada-san and Aiba-kun bowling first for the Arashi team!

Imada: The balls hit each other just a little, didn’t they!
Aiba: But we did pretty okay, didn’t we?
Narrator: Arashi scored 147 points!
Imada: We knocked quite a lot over
Nino: You did well!
Imada: Did we do a little too well?
Aiba: Did we? After all, that’s a little rude since we’re up against our seniors!

Imada: Chance! Chance!
Narrator: The second bowlers will be Sakurai-kun and Matsumoto-kun!
Imada: Make sure your balls dont hit each other!
Narrator: Ohno-san, is a spare possible?
Ohno: It’s possible!
Sho: Really!?
Ohno: One person has to get the centre, definitely
Imada: Uhhuh
Ken: Then you’ll have to hit the rest sensually
Sho: SENSUALLY!?
Ken: You know how girls throw a really weak ball and the pins slowly fall over one by one and she gets a strike?
Sho: Ah, I know what you mean
Ken: Like that. Sensually. Sexy throwing
Jun: Then… Sexy…
Sho: No. I’m not the one in charge of being sexy

CLIFF CLIMB
Aiba: The next game is “Cliff Climb!”
Narrator: We begin with the V6 team, and the climbers are Nagano-kun and Okada-kun! So, Nagano-kun, you guys are losing by 95 points
Nagano: I think it’ll be impossible to win if we don’t get a perfect score here
Inocchi: That’s true
Nagano: Yes
Sho: Nagano-kun, you eat a lot, don’t you?
Nagano: I do
Sho: Have you eaten anything good recently?
Telop: Gourmet Nagano Hiroshi’s Recent Meal
Nagano: If you want something unusual, then the brains and spinal cord of a gigantic horse.
Imada: A gigantic horse!? Brains and spinal cord!?
Nagano: Shabu-shabu style
Imada: Are you a monster!?
Narrator: Well, the second climber is Okada-kun
Okada: Yes!
Jun: Okada-kun, you rockclimb, don’t you?
Okada: Well, rather than rockclimbing, recently I went to Mt Everest
Box: Everest - The summit of the Gods - Nationwide Roadshow March 2016 - Starring Okada Junichi
Inocchi: That’s right, he did
Imada: This V6… Going to Mt Everest and eating gigantic horses…
Sho: They’re hyper-stars!
Imada: And he’s really amazing at action scenes
Sho: Of course! I mean, he has instructor licenses!
Okada: Yeah, I’m a qualified Shooto instructor
Box: USA Shooto
Imada: You’re an instructor!?
Okada: Yes.
Imada: I met him once in an elevator, too, and he was carrying this strange wooden sword-like thing for some reason. For Kali or something, right?
Okada: Yes, Kali. And also Jeet Kune Do. I kinda have instructor licenses for these three martial arts.
Box: USA Shooto - Kali - Jeet Kune Do
Imada: EH!?
Sho: Okada-kun, you did SP, right? Did you do all the action scenes yourself?
Okada: I thought of all the action choreography myself
Sho: You thought of it yourself!?
Ken: You can run on the wall today, too, can’t you?
Imada: You’re good!
Okada: I can’t do that!
Ken: But you did in SP! Like whoo
Narrator: We’ll have to keep our eyes on Okada’s climb! Let’s get started! Cliff Climb, start!

Narrator: He got a perfect score! The Nagano and Okada pair did it! The remaining time is 10 seconds. The perfect score of 300, with the bonus score of 10 seconds times three, for a total of 330 points!
Nino: That’s embarrassing! (TN: well, Okada loves butts~ Especially Hiroshi and Sakamoto-kun’s!)
Inocchi: Nagano-kun, why did you hit the grip?
Nagano: I just hit it because of the momentum…
Inocchi: He hit the pink grip like bam! It was so cute! I was like, “he hit it!”
Sho: Okada-kun, was that an easy win?
Okada: Oh no, I kept thinking of how best to climb that part
Imada: How are your arms? Are they aching?
Okada: They’re fine
Sho: For all you know, they might have gotten even bigger after this, right? Like after doing pump ups
Imada: On the contrary, that jacket you’re wearing the cover them up is scary!

Narrator: Next up it’s Arashi’s turn! The climbers are Ninomiya-kun and Ohno-kun! So, Ohno-kun!
Ohno: yes!
Narrator: You said so in the opening, didn’t you! It’s a battle to see whether you or Okada-kun is more senior! Okada-kun has conquered it!
Jun: So you have to do the same
Ohno: I have to climb the same route he did, right?
Narrator: He’s going the take the same course!
Nino: You’ve been saying over and over that you’re the senior
Telop: The “who is more senior” question - Okada - Ohno
Sho: So is Ohno-san more senior?
Ohno: I am his senior
Sho: I mean, for Johnny’s Entertainment, there’s the order in which you entered the company, right?
Ohno: Yes
Sho: Then there’s the order in which you debuted… right?
Jun: When did Leader enter the company?
Ohno: I entered in 1994, on the 16th of October
Inocchi: And you, Okada?
Okada: 1995, on…
Inocchi: Then Ohno’s more senior, isn’t he?
Ken: You’re the senior!
Inocchi: And you’re the same age?
Ohno: Yes
Jun: So what does that work out to be?
Miyake: KinKi Kids entered later than us but they’re our seniors, right?
Inocchi: Because they became a group before us, right? (TN: Koichi and Tsuyoshi were promoted as a duo since the time they joined JE in 1991, though the name KinKi Kids was only given to them by Nakai in 1993, and they officially debuted in 1997. In other words, they entered JE later than half of V6 [Tonisen all joined between 1986 and 1988], but because the duo was formed before V6, [formed in Sept 1995, debuted in Nov 1995], they are still considered V6’s seniors. This explains also why KinKi is listed before V6 on all official lists of JE groups e.g. on Johnny’s Web).
Sho: In that case, I guess Okada-kun is Ohno’s senior after all, then. Sorry about that
Jun: Because we debuted 4 years after V6 did. So he’s your senior
Ohno: His debut was before mine. His debut.
Imada: But in Johnny’s, you have a debut order too, right?
Nino: But the group that is formed first is…
Imada: Ah, then you’re his junior!
Ohno: I’m his junior!
Box: he finally realised it!
Sho: You’re making a funny face!
Ohno: Ah, well, I’m going to climb the same route he did anyway
Imada: And if he climbs faster
Nino: With more than 10 seconds remaining?
Imada: Yes
Narrator: Moving along! Will Ohno-kun be able to beat Okada-kun’s time and prove himself?
Nino: We have to be fast
Narrator: Cliff Climb, start!

Narrator: He made it! CLEAR! The time remaining is the same as Okada-kun’s: 10 seconds!
Ohno: Same?
Narrator: Arashi’s score - 290, with the bonus score of 10 seconds times three, for a total of 320 points! Okada-kun, what did you think of Ohno-kun’s climbing?
Okada: He was really fast! As expected of my contemporary!
Everyone: Contemporary?
Ohno: Okada, am I your contemporary?
Nino: I guess that works too, somehow
Imada: If you compare just the speed of Okada-kun and Ohno-kun, then Ohno-kun won
Ohno: I did, right?
Box: Eh!? Then in that case…
Imada: You won, so…
Ohno: Okada, aren’t I your senior?
Okada: HEY! That’s just weird!

STONE BUSTER
Sho: Next is a new game, “Stone Buster!”
Narrator: Starting from this episode, we have a new game, “Stone Buster!” I will explain the rules. It’s a game where you need to compete to get the 12 stones into the pockets. Both teams will have one break stone to start the game off with. The losing team will then go on to attack first. Getting one of the opponent’s stone busted (hit into the pocket) gets you 30 points, and you can’t shift the stones around during the game. You get bonus points for busting consecutive stones. You have 15 seconds for each shot, and the game ends when one team has no more stones on the field. 30 points are added to the winning team’s score for every stone left on the field. (TN: it’s pretty obvious when you watch the game being played but it’s basically a mixture of billiards and curling…). So, Arashi, what do you think of this new game?
Jun: We’ve actually tried it once, though it didn’t quite look like this
Box: pre-show simulation
Sho: When it was still being prepared
Imada: A simulation
Sho: It’s great
Imada: It was really fun for me, since I come from the billiards generation
Sho: V6, billiards…
Inocchi: Sakamoto-kun is pretty much…
Imada: It’s really a generation thing, huh?
Sho: Billiards really suits him, huh!
Masa: I even have my own cue!
Imada: I knew it!
Nino: Well, Sakamoto-kun and J are one zodiac cycle apart, right? (TN: so are you, Nino!)
Box: 12 years apart!
Nino: You’re part of Inoshishi 7, right?
Inocchi: Eh! Inoshishi 7!
Ken: That’s really nostalgic, you!
Box: age 35 - age 23 - Inoshishi 7 - A unit formed for Johnny’s Countdown 2006-2007, of all the boar Johnny’s (TN: Inoshishi = boar. And for those interested, the members were V6’s Sakamoto, Arashi’s Nino and Jun, KAT-TUN’s Nakamaru and Ueda, Eito’s Maru, and the juniors Yara Tomoyuki and Kazama Shunsuke)
Inocchi: You’ll have to explain that to Imada-san!
Imada: What’s this Inoshishi 7? Now and then you guys throw out random keywords I don’t understand. Like, Inoshishi 7.
Narrator: Moving along, who will emerge victorious? Let’s start with the break shot! It’s V6’s turn first (TN: from this point of the game, I’ll be a bit lazy and not translate everything… Besides I’m not even sure who’s talking half the time since they’re talking and shouting over each other ._.)
Masa: Which one? Which one?
Nino: This is bad!
Nagano: That one over there!
Narrator: Sakamoto-kun takes aim! He got a buster!
Masa: Which one now?
Ken: 4! 4!
Imada: He’s good!
Narrator: He got it! With the bonus points, V6 has 70 points now!
Nagano: 1! 1!
Masa: No way! 3!
Narrator: He’s aiming for 3! Oh no! And now it’s Arashi’s turn at Stone Buster, start!
Sho: The blue! Get the blues in!
Narrator: Imada Kouji is a little confused, but he aims for a blue stone!
Imada: 4!
Everyone: Amazing!
Narrator: Imada Kouji gets a double stone! Arashi has turned the tables in no time! His next target is stone #2! But this one goes off to the right! So it’s V6’s turn at Stone Buster now! Start! He hits it! But! It’s Arashi’s turn at stone buster! Start! There’s no angle… It’s in! Where will he aim next? Using #5 to aim at #3! It’s the last stone! Will he be able to finish this cleanly? Too bad! It’s V6’s turn to attack! He was aiming for #1, and it’s into the pocket!
Inocchi: 3!
Narrator: Arashi has 3 stones left! He did it! There are just three stones left on the field! Ah, too bad!
Ken: You were so close!!
Nagano: Ahh, I got 2 in though!
Aiba: From here? Or here?
Narrator: Will Arashi be able to finish this up? Everything rests on Aiba-kun’s shoulders! Will they win this?
Nagano: Miss!!!
Narrator: He did it! Aiba Masaki delivered the finishing blow! V6 scored 140 points, while Arashi, including the 60 point bonus from the remaining stones, has 280 points!
Inocchi: Amazing!
Sho: Sakamoto-kun was really good at the start
Ohno: He was
Masa: But right after that came Imada-san’s double!
Imada: That double was good eh?
Inocchi: When you scored, MoMusu was playing, wasn’t it?
Imada: “The * Peace!” right? PEACEEE! Since it went in two different directions
Sho: Ken-kun, what do you think of this new game?
Ken: It looks like it’d be fun
Sho: Just now… (TN: probably going to mention that Ken didn’t get play, hence he could only say that it “looks like” fun)
Ken: Since you can do a lot of scheming and stuff, you know?
Inocchi: Are you a producer?

KICKING SNIPER
Ohno: The final game is “Kicking Sniper!”
Narrator: We’re finally at the last game in this battle between V6 and Arashi! Kicking Sniper! First up we have V6! Inohara-kun, you guys have been cornered by your juniors, Arashi!
Inocchi: Well yeah, but Miyake-kun said so at the start, didn’t he? Something about having some drama arising here, right?
Ken: Right!?
Box: declaring a dramatic finish
Narrator: That’s what they say, but this year is V6’s 20th anniversary since their debut! Their best-of album will be released on 29th July, and in August, their concert tour begins!
Box: Celebrating V6 20th Anniversary since Debut - Best Album - SUPER Very best - On sale 29th July (Wed) - LIVE TOUR 2015 - -SINCE 1995~FOREVER- - starting on 30th August (Sunday) and touring 7 cities!!
V6: Thank you!
Narrator: You definitely want to win here and gain some momentum, don’t you!
Inocchi: That’s right
Jun: Just to be sure, if we really do win… Will Okada-kun really wear that outfit?
Ken: From the opening
Okada: Which one? (TN: some other stuff here I can’t really make out since Okada’s mumbling and other people are talking at the sam time and there’s the main VTR from the opening D:) I will, I will.
Inocchi: You will, won’t you
Ken: What will you make him do in it? Just like that?
Inocchi: Just wearing it and doing nothing is kinda…
Ken: It’d be pretty pitiful for him to have to wear that alone
Masa: Don’t say unnecessary things, you!
Imada: All of you, then? What about all of you wear it together? 5 of you can wear it, since there are 5 sets
Nino: So you’re okay with wearing it if you all lose, right?
Inocchi: We will
Box: If they lose, they’ll wear the Jr. outfits
Inocchi: But there’s still a possibility that you guys may lose, right?
Sho: that’s true
Inocchi: Then?
Imada: They’ll be your back dancers for your concert
Inocchi: Really?
Imada: For your concert, your back dancers will be Arashi!
Sho: Wait a second!
Jun: Our schedules! Our schedules!
Sho: We can’t confirm yet!
Jun: Can you take responsibility for our schedules?
Sho: Free up our schedules for us!
Imada: They’ll be there, definitely!
Jun: You better remember to do it!
Imada: With that, let’s have them sing for us!
Nino: Are you the MC!?

Narrator: Moving along! Will they be able to get a high score and avoid having to wear those Jr. costumes?! Let’s get started! Kicking Sniper, start!
Box: Forfeit - Wearing Jr. Costumes - Forfeit - Backdance for V6
Masa: Calm down!

Masa: That wasn’t too bad, was it?
Okada: It wasn’t!
Narrator: They showed off their disposition as senpai! Team V6! 710 points!
Nagano: We’re acting like we’ve already won!
Inocchi: Better start practicing!
Narrator: There were three perfects!
V6: We did it! Amazing!
Imada: that last can was finished off really beautifully
Go: To be honest, 2 games ago I’d already given up hopes on winning
Nino: That’s too early!
Go: But it was great, at the end
Sho: Can I just say something? Umm, Sakamoto-san…
Box: What’s wrong?
Imada: You saw it too? When you think of Sakamoto-kun, his body is toned and sharp, and he’s really good at dancing, right?
Inocchi: That’s right
Imada: That same Sakamoto-kun was making movements like this
Sho: Because he was just watching up till the middle
Masa: I didn’t know when I’d have to kick, and then all of a sudden it was my turn
Ken: This isn’t your living room!

Narrator: Kicking Sniper, up next we have Arashi! Ohno-kun, you guys have been driven up a wall all of a sudden!
Ohno: Ahhh, well they’re our seniors… Yeah, our seniors after all!
Sho: The point difference is around 500 now, right? This is really bad!
Aiba: It’s really hard to get 500 points after all
Inocchi: Is 500 really that hard to get?
Arashi: It’s really hard
Nino: 700 points is really out of the ordinary, to be honest
V6: Really?
Ohno: Yeah, it’s really rare
Nino: Really rare
Inocchi: That made me happy, really happy!
Nagano: I’m so happy I got to see your worried faces today!
Inocchi: I know right?
Nino: We’re really worried over here
Jun: But we really do want you guys to wear those costumes
Telop: Johnny’s Jr costumes
Sho: Of course we do. After all, you haven’t gotten to wear them before, have you, Nii-san?
Inocchi: Nope. We didn’t have costumes as juniors
Masa: We had to get our own clothes (TN: TOKIO’s Joshima has mentioned that he had to go buy clothes for the rest of TOKIO before they debuted and got a manager to run those errands)
Nagano: Yeah, our own clothes
Aiba: Eh? You went out on stage in your own clothes?
Inocchi: Our own sweatshirts and our own kungfu shoes
Masa: yeah, yeah
Nino: Kungfu shoes!?
Inocchi: Actually, we were pretty jealous, looking at all your juniors and seeing that you all got to wear matching costumes
Imada: Then, since you longed to wear those costumes…
V6: We didn’t long for them!
Imada: We have to win!
Sho: We have to win no matter what!
Imada: If you lose, you guys have to dance in those right? Either way, you can’t just throw those costumes away, huh? It’s just a question of who will wear them
Masa: That’s not even your problem!
Imada: Oh it is alright! Well then, let’s hear it from them! V6, with… MADE IN JAPAN!
Box: seems like he really does want to be the MC
Narrator: Well, if the Arashi team doesn’t get above 490 points, they lose!

Nagano: We’ve won, haven’t we!?
Ken: We won, we won!
Imada: This is bad!
Nino: Wait, wait, wait!
Narrator: Arashi’s score! 370 points! It’s V6’s victory!
V6: We did it!
Nagano: Look at him!
Masa: He’s practicing!

ENDING
Sho: How was it today, Sakamoto-kun?
Masa: Go said so just now too, but all of us had really given up on winning two games ago, but somehow…
Sho: And Ken-kun, you watch this show a lot, but this doesn’t happen very often, does it?
Ken: Yeah! But I told you so from the start, right? That there’d be some drama!
Box: They really gave a dramatic finish
Nino: There really was
Sho: It was a splendid victory. And now, Plus One Imada-san, we were doing pretty well but…
Imada: Yeah well… This drama’s script was written by Imada Kouji
Nino: That isn’t right! It was all of us together!

====

And so, here’s hoping that Arashi really keep their promise! I have a feeling they will, somehow :3 JE seems to be pushing V6 more this year (which is awesome), and Arashi generally do keep these random promises/forfeits they make on TV. Like the time they sent gifts to Aiba’s drama set as a forfeit for losing on VSA. Fingers crossed!!!!

If you enjoyed V6 on this episode but aren’t familiar with them, do check out their old variety shows especially “Gakkou e Ikou!” (a good place to start would be their 10th anniversary trip… and every other trip they had). And check out their concert DVDs too, because they are amazing singers and dancers and their MCs crack me up <3 (sorry, I just had to do a bit of V6 promo there)

v6, variety, arashi, variety: vs arashi, translation
