I love, love, love this visual commentary on comic art (plus it up):
http://i.imgur.com/0HrMl.jpg I particularly like the "look of intense concentration as I tried not to fall over while longing for Peter." Well, the tag line to that one, mostly.
Competitive Jousting, the next new Olympic sport? (Turn the sound down on this -- visuals cool, but I hate it when they put the ambient sound into slow motion.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igBnmWWglQc&feature=related I have a weakness for this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMh3leplzDQ But even if they bring in Quidditch or Competitive Jousting my favorite Olympic sport would remain Dressage:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKQgTiqhPbw Least favorite sport? Also one of the most dangerous? Kite fighting.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6396727.stm And that article doesn't even mention half the types of horror stories I've heard, since it's focusing on deaths instead of mutilation. Kites are cool; kite fighting, not so much. Every sport has risks, but kite fighters strew those risks all over the countryside. Even illegal street racers at least keep it in the streets (and also tend to race at night, when kids are more likely to be in bed, etc.). And I don't want to think about what bits of glass-impregnated string do when picked up by birds, or think about the damage to wildlife found in Toronto, etc. Ack!
I knew a guy who thought kite fighting was way cool back in the early 1980s; never got the point of it, myself, although I'm rather fond of stunt kites and of kites in general. Going on the bans in Canada, along with the fact that the US has developed a new form of kite fighting that doesn't involve the dangerous strings, probably won't ever be a big issue here. Not sure why I get so wound up about it, since it's not likely to ever have any impact on me personally. Maybe because it takes something peaceful and beautiful, that can be enjoyed by children but has variations requiring skill and practice challenging to most adults, and turns it into violence? Dunno.
Haven't crashed planes in a while. It's like vacationing is stealing my RC flying energy. Or fulfilling the same need? Something.
Too much smoke but keen flying.
