Oh, I have a question that I almost forgot to ask.

I wonder if I should resize the hi-res images like magazine scans a little bit before I do cropping. I know my question is stupid, but I really love to know the answer. Thanks

it all depends on the maker, really.

personally, i keep the images as is, size-wise. i do my cropping and then resize to fit my needs. typically this means my initial crop is much larger than those who resize first.

however, many makers resize the image to make it a bit smaller - for instance, taking a 1200x1000 image and resizing it to around 600x500. it doesn't reduce the quality too drastically, as long as the ratio isn't distorted.

let me know if this helped. :]
