You know if you went into the Navy now at 24, you would have a modest but adequate full retirement and lifetime healthcare at age 44. Maybe if you met somone and got knocked up (if you even want kid(s) in a couple of years, you could have everything wrapped up by age 45 or 46. Grown children, house probably paid for, kid(s) grown. Lifetime free healthcare.
Pretty f---ing sweet deal.

I was going to go in the Navy when I was 22. I made it all the way to the motel you stay in for the physical the next morning too. I got drunk, got in a fight, and they threw me out of the motel.

Shit I wish I could go back and do it over.

One mistake I do see people making sometimes is when they go in they specialize in things that have no demand in the private sector.= Your still young enough you have all these choices and possibilies in front of you. Maybe see Europe or Japan. Kinda makes a lifetime of flat feet working at waffle house seem small?

You know most of those Coy/Goldfish you see in the aquariums are actually big fish. They are not by nature the little saltine size things you see in the tanks of the Chinese Buffet's. Nature just sizes the fish to their enviorment. You can stay in the saftey of the little aquarium there you've always known, or, you can jump into the ocean where you can grow and take your chances on being eaten.

You can look back from your present 24 years to when you were 18. I suspect you will guage the time and judge that 6 years a flash in the pan that seemed more like 18 months. Overlooking that "from what I've read from you" very little has changed, consider that same 6 year/flash in the pan will put you at age 30. I sense from your posts that you are tired of feeling like you are going nowhere, like you're wandering.

Even if they don't accept you, it doesn't mean you can't find another route to "breakout".

Please feel free to tell me to shut the hell up anytime. I just see things your going thru and I can recollect.
