saw neurologist yesterday. she thinks perhaps i had a seizure that caused the car accident. had an MRA today and i have an EEG on Friday. she put me on amitriptyline for my killer headache which is funny because its the antidepressant i am supposed to be on. i fell asleep quickly after i took it last night. wooooooooo

Amitrityline is what i'm on to help with my pain and sleep disorder from my Fibromyalgia. Honestly, i love the stuff. Tricyclics are wonderful things as long as your liver function is good.

what dosage does she have you on?

just 10mg for a week and then 20mg for the next week and then 30mg for the 3rd week and then to be kept at 50mg until the 'script and 10 refills run out..

when i was prescribed this for depression a few months ago, i was at 60mg each night and i definitely noticed a difference. i like that it is a cheap alternative to other anti-d's and i actually like how it puts me to sleep so easily.

the one downside for me, is that once i fall asleep, NOTHING can wake me up. I am normally a very light sleeper and this stuff makes me dead to the world :D

I'm on the 10- 20 mg doses. Honestly, it's great. It works wonderfully with the celebrex for a pain management regimen, and nothing beats it for helping me sleep.

Your Dr. is awesome for increasing your doses in steps. VERY smart.

I agree, it does knock you out completely. I tend to love that because i'm s a seriously light sleeper and things like the cat meowing wake me up and keep me up for hours.

and you can't knock the price! i pay $10 for 60 doses. amazing!

The ONLY side effects i'm having are a craving for sweets and seriously supressed appetite. I'm not going to really complain about either one.
