Chapter EIGHT: Reset

Hyukjae never feared being lonely.

Even after losing his parents.

He somehow always believed that he will always have his hyung and friends with him.

That no matter what would happen, they will be there for him and that would be enough.

Well…he was wrong.

Because the minute he returned back to YunJae’s house and heard that Donghae already left…he never felt so lonely before.

‘he received an urgent phone call from his secretary for a very important business meeting he has to attend’ Changmin had said.

‘he sent you his regards as he left’.

This had somehow turned the knife in his heart.

And god…it hurts so much.

His confrontation with the disappearing man was still too fresh for him.

It all happened less than two hours ago and here he was, in his room, all gloomy, packing his things and preparing to leave.

Who would have though that after the very pleasing week, something as horrible would have happened to ruin everything.

All the harsh words he said come hurriedly to crash him more.

He shouldn’t have acted like that.

He shouldn’t have been so carried away…he has no right to get this emotional.

He has anything to do with Donghae after all.

But the said man didn’t fight back.

He didn’t deny anything he accused him of.

He …he just listened and was so…calm!!!!

But not when it came to the mention of Kibum.

Everything went worse since.

Hyukjae figured out that his past fantasies to reunite the two brothers are useless for real.

At this rate, he had may be worsen everything he tried to fix.

Grabbing quickly his I-pod from the night stand, he saw a yellowish brown envelope lying underneath, he checked the sender and soon his precious phone was sliding and falling on the floor.

He couldn’t move for what seemed to him an eternity … …and the sender was none than Donghae.

Their farewell went smoothly , if we don’t make so much attention to the drama queen Junsu, enjoying over-playing his sadness parting with Hyukjae.

They all then headed back to Seoul, YunJae, Changmin and Hyukjae.

They would depose Changmin into the airport where he will go back to Jeju Island.

‘Where they all belong’ though Hyukjae.

The ride back home was killing him. Minutes went like hours and when they finally reached his home, he never felt as happy.

Yunho must have be feeling all numb after such a long trip…but Hyukjae’s mind was stuck somewhere else.

He thanked them for the journey and the great week they have lived and with rushed steps, he entered his house.

He thanked god that they all felt exhausted and didn’t notice his dreamy state.

Because since his eyes landed on that envelope, his mind went wrong.

He couldn’t focus on anything.

He couldn’t remember if he had thanked and greeted both YooSu and Changmin properly as they parted.

He went straight to his room.

The house was unusually calm.

The HanChul were still in China, they will be back no more than tomorrow as Heechul texted him yesterday.

And well, Sungmin still planned to stay with KangTeuk for another week.

Ryewook practically lived with Yesung, he should try and snap him other times.

He laid on his bed, for minutes on his stomach.

His heartbeat however didn’t want to calm down.

The letter still lingering his thoughts.

Actually he was scared.

He finally admitted to himself how much he was scared to open the envelope and read what the letter contains.

And why would Donghae bother himself writing him a letter in the first place.

Aish!!!

His headache started to worsen again and his heart threatened to explode.

He has to read it now.

It would be like a bandage.

The quickest you take it off, the lesser pain you feel.

So …hwaiting Hyukjae!!!

~*~**~*~*~*~*

Hyukjae admitted to himself that the handwriting was extremely handsome, if we can say that about a handwriting and seeing how regular and neat it was he couldn’t stop himself from wondering how much surprises it hides.

So after taking a long breath to calm his racing heart, he begun:
