Evening Workout
So Kurry-san is keeping residence at my house now. I’ve been thriving off a secret stash of Granola bars for the past few days.
I’ve been training Kurry-san to get him into shape. Bringing him on one of my runs wasn’t a good idea, too soon. He collapsed within the first few steps. I remembered a place that Coach suggested to me awhile back when I was a freshman. It was when I was first starting out - some kickboxing place. So for evening workout I took Kurry-san there. The place seemed different - a lot of new faces I noticed. The equipment changed too, instead of the sparring blocks, there were horizontal bars nailed against the wall. Lots of mirrors. It didn’t seem right. Then it suddenly became clear when the music blasted my ears…
It started out like one of Sakuraba’s songs, then…”Waiting for tonight! OoooOoHOoo! Where you will be waiting here in my arms!!!”
I quickly made my way towards the exit. It seems the old kickboxing school was torn down and a…jazzercise studio replaced it. I’m surprised I didn’t notice when we entered the building. I was about to push open the door when Kurry pulled on my arm. They were closing in. Glittery smiling faces came closer and closer. Five of them took Kurry and pulled him into the mass of people moving along to the blaring music. I began to go to the exit when I turned away from searching for Kurry to see that two were closing on me as well. The music changed. I thought to myself…”There is no way I’m going to be ANYONE’S ‘dancing queen’” Strange American music…Kurry wanted to stay and watch. I sat out - thinking about my “Shin time” minutes wasting away…things went by really fast and before I knew it…I was on the floor doing the robot and Kurry shook the earth beneath us by performing a strange Hispanic dance called the Macarena.

Before we left and without my knowledge till later, Kurry-san signed us up for a membership…I’ll be sure to take Sakuraba and Takami along.
I’ll be needing a day job at the rate that Kurry-san empties my fridge. I also got rid of all my Ocean Breeze air freshener and Febreze. My nightmares have ceased to haunt me.
