Dark War

Gundam Wing
Warnings: Death, gore, language, yaoi, het, citris, occult, weirdness, blood, and all that jazz. it kinda just fell out of my head.
I: Reunion
“Well this has been a hell of a fucking day, buddy.” Maxwell was muttering from where he sat against a blood stained wall. Holes from the gunfire were still smoking through his legs and his shoulder, his cap pulled down over his right eye, black uniform sticking to his skin from the blood and gore all over him. He turned his one visible eye up to me, glowing freakishly violet as it always did on a job, and grinned around his cigarette. “Never thought these fuckers were planning a reunion though… na Fei?” My name came out as a hiss, smoke rolling from his pearl white grin, obscuring his face for a moment.
“Aa… just as she predicted.” I muttered, picking my way across the chaos that had been a cultist meeting. They had been planning on summoning some big demon or something equally stupid, Mundanes didn’t know what they were fucking with some days. They had been committing acts of terror for the last five full moons and this night, the sixth, they planned the last sacrifice. The blood from said sacrifice, tacked to a pentagram on the wall Maxwell was sitting next to, began to soak through my slippers and socks until it hit my skin. I hissed feeling the pain from his death, the horror of the whole scene replaying just for me in my mind…
But the pulse I felt still in all that blood spilled around the floor, despite the very dead body hold fast to the wall by silver railroad ties through each major joint, throat, heart, and forehead, was as real as the ticking of the time bomb it was leaking from.
No one told me, when I hit twenty one, that I would awaken to a whole nightmare that was my new life. I thought fighting in the last war was bad enough, not to mention HER rebellion, and working for the Preventers. No, no one warned me that all the folk tales of my clan being descended from a line of Dragon blooded kin was truth. One rude wake up covered in scales and trapped in my apartment on fire told me that I wasn’t going to be going to work again any time soon. I’m sure Sally was disappointed.
That’s when he found me; Barton did, and took me from my own little inferno and into the dark world I now live and work in. I was surprised to find him working for Quatre, who had since disappeared from the mainstream scene after a hospital accident, something about blood poisoning. The billionaire had started a side business, with full governmental backing, to stay in the shadows and fight what was now an underground war. No one ever really believed that demons, werewolves, vampires and dragons existed.
Mundanes are so stupid some days…
“Oi… tatsu-chan… what’s gotten into you?” Maxwell pegged something at my hand and I waved it away, watching it fly off into the darkness without ever really reaching me. Probably a finger or something macabre like that. My comrade rose to his feet and stabbed his thumb towards the sacrifice on the wall. “What do we do about him?”
“Bring him. He’ll be up in a few days.” I said, turning from the scene and letting the Demon deal with it. “May said he’d be back, we shouldn’t postpone this little reunion longer than necessary.”
“Well shit…” Maxwell cursed vividly and I could hear him begin to try and pull the body from the wall. I pulled out my phone to call in and report, ignoring the curses and the hissing of burning flesh. Holy treated silver, no doubt. Poor Duo…
The phone rang twice before he picked up. I must have interrupted something because he was using THAT voice.
“Yes, Dragon?” he purred and it sent shivers down my spine, even from so far away.
“We’ve neutralized the cult and are retrieving the body used for the final seal. Just as May predicted.” I tried to keep my tone professional; it didn’t help to upset the boss.
“Understood. Be careful and come back quickly. The authorities should be there soon. I trust you handled everything well?”
“Yes, demon sealed, cult dead save a few to answer for their crimes and all data obtainable has been gathered.”
“Excellent, return quickly… we miss you, My dragon…”
“Yes sir.” I swallowed and shut the phone. Damn Quatre and his seductive ways… he was probably feeding off of the Uratha as I stood there earlier containing the demon in the crystal in my pocket while Duo reduced the cultists to bloody mush. Just glad he had fed before we showed up or I would have had to seal him… again.
A thud on the ground behind me dragged my mind from the gutter before things got uncomfortable. I sighed, hearing him struggle with the body.
“Be careful! He’ll be happier in one piece, not several.”
“Hey not my fault he’s still heavy! Damn silver burns like a bitch too.”
“Stop whining and come on.” I turned to look and finally let the frown appear on my face. Not the way I wanted to see him again.
“Na buddy boy… glad we finally caught up to you. Damn boring with all these stiffs around ya know, Heero.” Maxwell joked, though if he was talking about the corpses at his feet, the one in his arms, or us I don’t know.
Demons have the weirdest sense of humor… especially him.
