okay..so, I am le PISSED

It's just that certain people (or certain TYPES of people) annoy the hell out of me. People who are genuinely lucky and priviledged that break down because their lives are "shitty." Ive posted entries like this before, and Im gonna do it again.

living in America, although i dont completely agree with all of our actions or policies, gives us innueramble possibilities. Yet some people throw that out the window and refuse to acknowledge the fact that there ARE in fact "3rd world" coutries out there. Where people thank GOD or MUHAMMED or ALA or any other "God's" just for letting them wake up in the morning. They dont sit around and get depressed because they live in a tin-roofed shack, or their mother just died from aids yesterday, or the fact that they dont have a clue where their next meal is going to come from, OR the fact that they dont know whether today might be their last on this planet. No. Theyre simply happy to be alive. We, living in America, or any modern country, are some of THE most piveledged people in the World. Even if we're part of the middle (lower and upper) class as I am. I meet people that live in places like Royal Oak or Berkely(sp?) or any other suburb of Detroit that complain about how shitty their lives are.
Which actually, to me, is fine because yeah, we are under alot of stress and sometimes we break down but goddammit, when people get like seriously depressed for multiple days and its not because of a chemical inbalance but a lack of appreciation for what they already have. Thats what's fucked up.

I bet everybody who reads this is just like "OMFG Josh is on another one of his anti-emo moments even though he acts like that alot of the time"
my answer to that is: thats probably true. But im not constantly talking about how much my life sucks. I dont CONSTANTLY think: fuck the other 6 BILLION 999 MILLION 999 THOUSAND 999 people in the world and think that my life is THE WORST. Part of that is living in a rural area. With houses falling down around me, i see homeless people. Ive witnessed gang fights and shootouts right in front of my house. I see men (some women) everyday asking jsut for a few quarters. I think if you talked to them theyd tell you that they're genuinely lucky to be alive today. If you asked some corporate executive with three caddy's and a Aston Martin as a "Toy" he wouldnt say that.

Not too many people seem to understand that (my closest friends being the ones that I feel "get it"). But Jesus, it seems like mroe and more people "our" age are getting into the whole "Emo" or "lets wear popped collars and 200 dollar jeans" thing. WTF?. And im not saying thats necessarily bad, its jsut that you only think about yourself and the peole around you. And many people have great views on change, and thats AWESOME! But. If you say "you wanna change the world" and dont do anything about it, does it really mean anything?

The main point im trying to make here is that we need to be more greatful for what we have. Too many of us, including myself, are only focused on what we dont have. So we spend all our time crying because we can't get it. Everybody's running in the same direction, headed for the same goal. Few of us ever stop and turn around and try to see where we came from, including myself. But im trying to take that step and i think more people of our generation should try also. We all break down sometimes. the question is whether you'll get back up and try to make others see that we are in fact privileged, and wee need to observe things on a larger scale, or Think OUTSIDE the box instead of being confined by it.

If you wanna leave a comment and tell me im an ass fine. If you wanna leave a comment and tell me I'm a hypocrite, fine.
Seems like most of my "aquaintences" these days would do that if they read this...
