“-Hyun. -nghyun. Jonghyun. JONGHYUN!” A hand slammed down onto the table in front of him. “Pay attention!”

“Whoa!” Kim Jonghyun, rock god and international superstar, shot up in his seat, pencil clattering onto the paper in front of him, where he’d been doodling cartoons and random lyrics as his managers and support staff talked around him.

His manager glowered down at him. “This is your album’s planning session. Why aren’t you paying attention?”

Jonghyun sighed. “I’m very sorry, manager-hyung.” He sat back in his chair, picking up the pencil and fiddling with it as the other staff members resumed talking around him. Honestly, he had no idea why he was dragged to these meetings. All he did was write the songs and sing them, and he could just as easily collaborate with the composers and other music support from a sound booth-and often did.

He found himself tapping out a tentative beat on the table with the pencil, and quickly scratched out the rhythm on the paper before he forgot it.

His newest tattoo itched on his shoulder blade, and he shrugged slightly, trying to scratch it against the fabric of his shirt.

He sketched out another tentative melody and nodded to one of the concept designer’s question. Sure, that seemed like a good idea.

Finally the meeting was over, and Jonghyun groaned as he got to his feet. Seriously, why did he need to attend these meetings?

“Jonghyun!” His manager caught him on his way out the door, itching to get down to the studios and sing. “I’ll see you at SBS studios at 7:00 tomorrow morning, don’t forget! And don’t stay up all night!”

“Yes, manager-hyung,” Jonghyun called back, slinging his bag over his shoulder and hurrying his steps to the staircase. If he was lucky, one of the singing rooms with a piano would still be available on the lower floors.

He hurried down two flights of stairs, cursing the fact that his agency had decided to put all of the meeting rooms on the upper floors and the practice rooms on the lower levels. It might be easier for the trainees, but for the rock star, who felt like he spent most of his time in meeting rooms these days, it was a pain to climb up and down the stairs all the time.

Jonghyun breezed through the door to the ground floor, expertly ignoring the astonished and sometimes starstruck gazes of the trainees he passed. The choreographers and other staff members, used to him popping in and out-and some of them remembering him from his own trainee days-ignored him unless it was to call out a friendly greeting, which he acknowledged with a wave, not stopping. If he looked like he was busy, he wouldn’t have to deal with hero worship. While it was nice and he loved his fans and was always willing to support his juniors, he just really did not feel in the mood for it today.

The practice rooms were all taken, the whiteboards listing reservations and availabilities mocking the singer outside each door with their neat characters. Jonghyun sighed in irritation, and then searched each whiteboard for the one with the shortest wait time and added his name, the dry-erase marker squeaking against the slick surface. After he estimated the length of his practice time, he let the marker drop to the end of its string and wandered off, wondering how he was going to kill time until the room opened up.

Despite the late hour, many trainees still had classes and practice, everyone unwilling to concede the precious hours to other competitive students. Music pounded, muffled, through almost every wall Jonghyun passed, the sharp calls of choreographers and the shuffle and squeak of shoes against hardwood barely audible. Jonghyun strolled into a couple of viewing rooms, watching the young trainees practice absently through the tinted glass before wandering out again, his mind unable to remain on anything.

One room at the end of the hall, unlike the others, was free of shouted instructions and the sound of many feet. Instead a steady pulse pounded out, and Jonghyun perked up, recognizing one of his own songs. The trainee in this room never stopped the track to redo a sequence, and, his curiosity piqued, Jonghyun pushed open the door to the viewing room and stepped inside.

A young boy danced, freestyle, in the middle of the room. His long copper-colored hair stuck to his face and neck with sweat, and his eyes, dark and intense, never left the mirror in front of him. His limbs were long and lanky, not quite grown into himself yet, and Jonghyun estimated his age around 17, 18 years old-only a few years younger than himself. His face was sharp and delicate, wide eyes over high cheekbones, a strong nose, and a pouty mouth currently tight in concentration. Jonghyun found himself staring at those lips and wanting to bite them into swollen redness, and he shook himself out of it quickly.

Bad idea, he thought, eyes trailing over the boy’s sweatpants and T-shirt, trying to discern the body underneath. Reeeally bad idea. This boy looks like he’s about ready to debut, and he’s probably underage, and goddamn I just want to bite- He cut off that train of thought quickly as the track ended and the next one began (he distantly recognized the CD as his second album, back when he was experimenting with lots of different styles) and the trainee paused for a brief moment before beginning to dance again, slower this time, popping and flowing in ways that Jonghyun himself had never quite managed to look that effortless.

Jesus. Hot piece of ass or not, I wanna meet this kid. He’s incredible.

Jonghyun moved to the door into the practice room and opened it quietly, not wanting to disturb the kid. He closed it after himself and leaned against the wall, crossing his arms and simply observing from closer up.

The kid noticed him almost immediately, and he spun and stared at him, annoyance melting into recognition and then shock and then, ultimately, embarrassment. He dashed over to the stereo and turned it off, the sudden silence shocking after such constant sound.

“J-Jonghyun-sunbaenim!” the boy faltered. His voice was pretty too, like ripped silk over honey. Hesitant, though; he clearly didn’t have as much confidence in his singing as he did his dancing. He bowed deeply, hair flopping over his forehead, and when he stood up straight again Jonghyun wondered how much of the flush in his cheeks was due to the dancing and how much to his presence. “I di-didn’t see you watching.”

Jonghyun smiled, hooking his thumbs into his belt loops and slouching back against the wall. “Don’t stop on my account. You’re very good. How long have you been dancing?”

The trainee shrugged, twisting his fingers together nervously. “I guess since I was a kid. I’ve never not been dancing. Um. Th-thank you for the compliment.”

Jonghyun cocked his head to the side. “What’s your name, kid?”

“Taemin. Lee Taemin. I’m nineteen years old.” He bowed again and blushed, biting his lip as he glanced at the stereo. Jonghyun’s smile widened. It was clear that it had just occurred to the kid that he had been dancing to Jonghyun’s music.

“Well, don’t let me distract you from your practice.” Jonghyun walked forward and offered his hand. “You’re very talented. Maybe we’ll meet again someday soon.” He smiled into Taemin’s wide brown eyes, and Taemin’s flush deepened as he bowed again, accepting Jonghyun’s hand. His hand was long-fingered and firm, a man’s hand despite the delicate appearance of his face. Jonghyun gripped it firmly.

“I’ll see you around, Lee Taemin.” He turned and left the room, closing the door after himself with a satisfied smile. Humming slightly, he headed back towards his own practice room, mind on getting his half-hard cock to settle down.

-

Taemin stared blankly at the door to the practice room. It seemed like it had all been a dream-an embarrassing dream, at that. Kim Jonghyun had come into his practice room, watched him dance and then complimented him on his skill!

It didn’t make any sense to his shocked brain.

His legs folded and he sat on the floor, leaning his head back against the mirror with a sigh. God, how embarrassing. He’d acted like a complete idiot in front of the rock star and had even been playing his CD. Way to set himself up as a hopeless fanboy.

He smiled. But Jonghyun had complimented him. Said his dancing was really good. Taemin slid down to lie on the floor and indulged in a little wiggle of joy.

This time Taemin noticed when the door was opened. “Taemin, what are you doing?” Kibum asked, hands on his hips. “You told me you were practicing.” It was impossible to miss the emphasis his best friend placed on the last word. “And then I come to pick you up and save you from dying of starvation or something only to find you on your back on the floor flopping around like a dying fish.”

Taemin turned his head and beamed at his friend. “Hyung~” he sparkled. “Guess who I met!”

Kibum raised a skeptical eyebrow. “I haven’t the faintest idea.”

Taemin wiggled again, unable to suppress his excitement. “Kim Jonghyun!”

Kibum’s eyes widened and his mouth opened slightly. “What? Like, rock star Kim Jonghyun? The guy you’ve been obsessed with for like the past five years?”

Taemin nodded, beaming. “Yup!”

Kibum’s eyebrows knitted together. “Why did you meet him?”

“Hyung,” Taemin pouted. “You could be a little happier, you know.”

“Sorry, Taeminnie,” Kibum said, crossing to his friend and squatting down next to him, absently playing with his fringe. “But you have to admit, rock stars-or really anyone who’s already debuted-don’t usually hang out with us trainees.”

“Well, he came in and he must have been watching me from the booth, because he said that my dancing was really good and maybe we’d meet again but oh my god, hyung, I was dancing to his album, you know how I like his music best for freestyling, and I was so embarrassed that he heard that, but what if I really do meet him again, and what if I can have an actual conversation-”

Kibum covered Taemin’s babbling mouth with one hand. “Breathe, baby, air is necessary for survival.” He removed his hand as the younger boy followed his advice, bright eyes fixed on Kibum. Kibum felt a rush of affection for Taemin and hoped that his innocent dreams wouldn’t be crushed by reality and cold rock stars. “Well, if you meet him again be sure to mention your fabulously talented best friend, okay? A leg up in this business should never be turned away.” He ruffled Taemin’s hair and stood up. “Now come on, I need dinner.”

-

Good hell Jonghyun, focus.

Jonghyun had been staring at his notebook for the past five minutes or so. He couldn’t get that young trainee out of his mind. Time was ticking away and he was wasting it, just by thinking of the dancer and how he moved so fluidly. Jonghyun couldn’t even recall the last time he got hard from watching someone move.

The company wanted Jonghyun to be a bit more risqué. As if he wasn’t enough already. With all the tattoos and past problems with his live performances, Jonghyun was considered the generation’s ‘bad boy’ and just when he thought he’d be able to tone it down a bit, they wanted more bad.

“Guess I should finish what I started,” Jonghyun muttered to himself, looking at the melody he had written during the production meeting. He hummed what he had already written before a sly smirk came upon his face. They want risqué, by all means I shall give it to them.

Jonghyun’s overactive brain began to create a storm of thought. He began to write, a very sinful dancer dominating his thoughts. Words came easily, the melody line already threading through his mind. Lee Taemin had just become Jonghyun’s muse, especially in how he moved his body and how he looked.

He wrote for hours, using up all of his time in the practice room. By the time the next person in line came to claim their hours, Jonghyun was running up the stairs with newfound energy. He had one complete song and a few others begun, and for the one song he finished, he had the music in his head already. There was only one person in the entire company he trusted to actually get what was in his head.

“Onew-hyung!” Jonghyun didn’t bother with formalities, barging into Onew’s studio with his music in hand.

“What is it now, Jonghyun?” Onew looked up from where he sat behind his keyboard, pausing the music he already had playing. Ever since Jonghyun had gone solo with his career, Onew had been really the only one to produce his music. Oftentimes the other helped compose, but Onew was the one calling the shots. Always.

Jonghyun smiled as he plopped himself down on the small leather loveseat. “I got a new muse and it’s begging for music that makes its body move.” The excitement in Jonghyun’s voice made Onew groan; whenever the rock star got excited about something, it somehow always led to Onew getting no sleep for weeks or even months.

Onew blinked at the papers Jonghyun had placed before him. Without picking them up, he read the song. “You’re calling it Sinful?” Onew questioned Jonghyun with a puzzled look. He read over the song again for a second time before nodding his head. “All right. What did you want to do with it? Are we experimenting on this new album again?”

“They want risqué.” Jonghyun smirked. “So I am going to do something that has never been done before! Well, not in our country at least.” He hummed the tune that he had been thinking of for Onew.

That sparked Onew’s interest. Something that hadn’t been done in their country? That qualified a lot of things. With all the new artists debuting under the company’s name, Onew was tired of writing the same old heartbroken ballads or producing the same bubblegum pop with bright colors and unicorns. He pressed a few keys on his keyboard, messing around with Jonghyun’s melody a little, before he had an idea. “Give me 24 hours to work on this, Jonghyun,” he said.

“Just 24?” Jonghyun laughed as he stood up. “I’m trusting you, hyung~ because I know you’re thinking what I’m thinking, so make it work for me.” He waved goodbye to his good friend before wondering if he could maybe catch Lee Taemin one more time before he had to go.

-

“Taemin-ah,” Key sighed, propping his hands on his knees and trying to catch his breath, “Relax, okay? Killing yourself in dance practice isn’t going to make Kim Jonghyun miraculously walk through that door and declare his undying love for you.”

Taemin glared, and then sighed, walking over to his water bottle. “I know, hyung. It’s just…I really like him, you know? And maybe if I get good enough I can be one of his backup dancers or something. That would be nice.”

Key straightened up, scowling. “Hey. Don’t give me that shit. You are amazingly talented and resourceful, don’t sell yourself short by settling for a position as a backup dancer.”

Taemin swallowed a gulp of water. “Not settling, hyung, just…working. You know, before I debut.” He smiled dazedly into the air. “That’d be nice.”

Key stared at him. “Uh-huh.” He laced his fingers together and stretched them over his head, leaning from side to side as he stretched out the muscles in his sides. “Well, as long as you’re clear that it’s only temporary-” The door to the practice room opened, and both dancers turned to bow as one of their teachers came in. “Seonsaengnim,” Key said. “Is there something wrong?” Usually the two of them, as senior trainees, were left alone when not in class.

“Nothing wrong,” the teacher sighed, looking a little frazzled. Key and Taemin exchanged glances. “Just…Taemin.” He beckoned the younger boy over. “You’ve been, um…requested.”

“For what?” Taemin questioned, puzzled, brow wrinkling.

The teacher’s eyes rolled to the ceiling, and he sighed again. “As a backup dancer. By Jonghyun.”

Taemin gaped.

Key gaped.

The teacher sighed…again. “You’re expected in practice room C.” He waved a hand at the door.

Dazed, Taemin turned to gather his bag, meeting Key’s equally astonished eyes briefly before shouldering his bag and slipping out the door. Key’s mouth snapped shut as he disappeared from sight, and he crossed his arms over his chest, giving their teacher a look. “Seonsaengnim. What exactly is Jonghyun thinking?”

“I’m sure I haven’t the faintest idea of what goes through that boy’s mind, Kibum-ah,” the teacher sighed, pressing his fingers to his forehead. “And you are supposed to be in vocal lessons right now.”

Frowning slightly, Key bowed and gathered his own things before heading out the door.

-

Taemin took a deep breath and knocked tentatively on the door to practice room C before pushing it open, afraid that he’d lose his nerve if he waited too long. “Um. Excuse me, I’m Lee Taemin.” He bowed deeply to the whole room, hair flopping in his face.

“Oh, Taemin!” a voice-an extremely recognizable voice-cried, and Jonghyun walked over, smile so bright it almost blinded the younger boy. “I’m glad you came! Let me introduce you to my choreographer.” He gestured at one of the other people in the room, a man in his late twenties who was watching Taemin with interest. “We’re working on the choreography for my next show, and I want you to be in it.”

Taemin bowed again, unable to look at the other dancers (both men and women) scattered around the room. God, he was so unprepared for this. “Thank you for thinking of me, sunbae.”

“Well,” the choreographer said, clapping his hands, “we don’t have a lot of time for this, so let’s get started.”

-

Taemin collapsed on his bed in the trainee dorms and moaned into the mattress. “Oh come on, it can’t be that bad,” Kibum said, plopping down on the end of his bed and stretching out his calf muscles daintily.

Taemin turned his head so that one brown eye glared out from under his fringe. “Hyung. I am going to be in close contact with Kim Jonghyun on a daily basis, getting all sweaty and up close and personal with him while trying to keep from popping a boner in front of him and all the other dancers. Please tell me how this could get worse.”

Kibum considered that for a moment, sucking on his bottom lip contemplatively. “You could actually get a boner and everyone could notice it?”

Taemin buried his face back in his pillow and screamed.

“Aw c’mon, Taeminnie,” Kibum cooed, flopping on top of him and snuggling in close. “You get to spend hours with your favorite idol. It really can’t be that bad.”

Taemin wriggled until he could look up at his hyung again. “It’s not,” he sighed. “Or at least that part’s not. I just…I feel so inadequate, you know? All of the other dancers are experienced and professional and really really good and I’m just a nineteen-year-old trainee. I mean, c’mon.”

Kibum hummed in thought, running his fingers through Taemin’s hair absently. “But think of this as a big opportunity. Jonghyun specifically chose you. That has to mean something.”

Taemin slowly perked up. “Yeah…that’s right. He did.” He smiled at Kibum. “Thanks, hyung.”

Kibum ruffled Taemin’s hair. “Anytime, baby.”

-

“Hyung!” Jonghyun bounced into Onew’s studio, grinning. “How’s the music for my song coming? Have you finished it? How’s it sound?”

Onew sighed and paused his music. “Good afternoon to you too, Jonghyun. Take a seat.” The older man swiveled in his chair to fiddle with some of the dials on his soundboard before rolling back to his computer and pulling up a music file. “Okay, here we go. I took your lyrics and the melody line you gave me and turned it into something a little…different.” He pressed play.

Jonghyun sat back and listened to the sound rumbling through the speakers. His mind filled with thoughts of Taemin as the music spread through his body. He could definitely picture Taemin rocking his hips to the song and already had an image of the video in his mind.

“This is perfect, hyung. As always you make the best of my imagination.” Jonghyun smiled as Onew stopped the track.

“Of course it’s perfect, I produced it,” Onew smirked. Anything produced by him was perfect; he made sure of it.

The way the music flowed reminded Jonghyun of Taemin’s body, which was exactly what he wanted. He wanted this to be his single for his new album, and he wanted Taemin to be his lead dancer. “Let’s get recording, I want to show production this as soon as possible.” Jonghyun grinned.

“Yes, sir,” Onew drawled, turning to his soundboard.

-

Taemin gaped. “What? You want me to…what?”

“Be my partner for the new song on my album,” Jonghyun said calmly, as if he wasn’t completely destroying Taemin’s brain as they spoke. “You’re a trainee, so I’m assuming you can sing, but even if you’re not confident in your vocal ability it’s okay because most of the song will be sung by me. You and I will just have to worry about the dance.”

“Dance?” squeaked Taemin.

“It’ll be fun,” Jonghyun said, hiding his grin by bending over and beginning to stretch for dance practice. “I’m really looking forward to working with you on this piece.”

“Okay,” Taemin said faintly. This is going to be a disaster.

Taemin’s thought was proved correct the moment he saw the choreography they were going to perform. “What?” he squeaked (again). “We’re going to-handcuffs? What?”

Jonghyun didn’t bother to hide his grin this time, sliding up close to Taemin and laying a hand on his back. Taemin jumped a little and let a tiny gasp slip past his lips at the feel of Jonghyun’s hot touch. “I think this is one of my best songs yet. I can’t wait to perform it with you.” He let his hand slide off-Taemin bit his lip, skin tingling from the sensation-and walked to the center of the room where the choreographer was waiting. “So, shall we get started?”

Taemin whimpered quietly to himself and went to join his sunbae.

The next few days of rehearsals proved him right. Taemin found himself spending his days blushing and trying to hide erections from the sharp eyes of Jonghyun, and spending his nights flopped on Kibum’s bed ranting about the sexy choreography and fanservice, hyung, Jonghyun wants us to do FANSERVICE!!! Kibum had given up on trying to calm Taemin down and instead nodded and hummed sympathetically, patting Taemin’s back.

Things finally came to a head one day when they were alone in the dance room, running through the whole dance one last time before calling it a night. Taemin was already panting and sweaty, exhausted from four hours of practice on top of his regular training. He’d mostly gotten over his inappropriate reactions and learned how to focus his sexual tension into his dance, but today he was just too tired or something, because when Jonghyun pressed up against him and fisted his hand in his hair, yanking Taemin’s head back and almost, almost kissing him, Taemin’s eyes fluttered shut and he let out a moan.

Jonghyun froze.

Taemin’s eyes shot open and, panicking, he tried to pull away, but Jonghyun’s hand tightened in his hair to keep him still. “You just moaned,” Jonghyun stated the obvious, causing Taemin to blush a deep shade of pink as the young dancer tried to avoid eye contact.

The music had faded out but soon started again, on a loop just for practice. Jonghyun slid his fingers from Taemin’s hair, smirking as he did so. “Again,” he demanded.

So they started the routine again, from beginning up until that part where Taemin moaned the first time. Taemin held it in this time, and he closed his eyes so he couldn’t see how Jonghyun was looking at him. If he’d had them open he would have seen the satisfied expression Jonghyun wore. This time, Jonghyun kissed him.

Lips connected, soft gasps for breath in between as tongues began to mingle. Taemin held his breath at first but quickly realized it was hard to kiss and breathe at the same time. He pushed Jonghyun back as he gasped and panted for air.

Jonghyun chuckled at his inexperience and nudged in closer, breath fanning across those pink lips. “Breathe through your nose,” he instructed, before kissing Taemin again. He suddenly felt cool glass against his fingertips and realized that he’d backed Taemin against the mirrors, pinning him there with his stronger frame. He let out a quiet sound and pressed further against the younger boy’s body.

Taemin’s mind was in a daze. He could barely think, barely process what was going on. All he could do was respond, kissing back inexpertly and wrapping his arms around Jonghyun’s shoulders tightly. He could feel Jonghyun’s hard body pressed all along his front, sending a spike of lust down his spine at the feeling of being controlled, a little trapped against the mirrors. He moaned and sank his fingers into Jonghyun’s hair.

Jonghyun faintly thought that maybe this wasn’t the best idea, in the open practice room where anyone could walk in on them, but the thought was buried underneath a surge of lust when Taemin pressed up into him and moaned. Fuck, there was no way he could stop now. His hands slowly slid down Taemin’s body and slipped under his shirt, sliding along taut muscles and around the waistband of Taemin’s sweatpants, hesitating.

“Taemin,” Jonghyun murmured, because no matter how aroused he was, he was not going to push Taemin farther than he was comfortable. “Hey, is this okay?” He bent his head and set his teeth at Taemin’s neck, licking and nibbling little marks along the younger boy’s jawline.

Taemin gasped, tilting his head back and to the side so that Jonghyun had better access. “Are you kidding?” he breathed, hands tightening in Jonghyun’s shirt. “Been dreaming about you for years.”

Jonghyun grinned, his ego stroked. “Really? Years?” He let his fingers slip under Taemin’s waistband and settled both hands over Taemin’s ass, squeezing firmly.

Taemin arched forward with a cry, thrusting his hips into Jonghyun’s and making them both moan at the friction. “Sh-shut up,” he mumbled, already flushed cheeks turning an even deeper red as he turned his head away to avoid Jonghyun’s gaze. “You know you’re hot.”

Jonghyun’s grin only grew wider. “You’re pretty hot yourself, Taeminnie.” He moved one hand carefully around to the front of Taemin’s pants and palmed his cock through his boxers. Taemin arched again and shuddered, head falling onto Jonghyun’s shoulder as he panted. “Sorry,” Jonghyun murmured, remorse suddenly hitting him. “We should be doing this in a bed, not in a smelly dance room-”

“Doesn’t matter,” Taemin interrupted, turning his head to kiss along Jonghyun’s collarbones. “We can do that next time.” Jonghyun grinned happily at Taemin’s assumption of a ‘next time’, and then it was his turn to gasp as a long-fingered hand slipped into his own pants, drawing out his cock. Taemin was blushing hard but determined, slowly moving his hand up and down Jonghyun’s shaft as it twitched and leaked. “Is…is this okay, sunbae?”

Jonghyun gusted out a laugh, groaning as Taemin’s hand twisted slightly. “Taeminnie, we have each other’s cocks in our hands. I think you can call me ‘hyung’ at this point.”

“O-okay. Hyung. Is this okay?”

“Perfect, baby,” Jonghyun grunted, pulling out Taemin’s cock too and pressing closer together, so that their shafts rubbed against each other. Taemin shuddered at the feeling, hand loosening on Jonghyun as he was momentarily overtaken by the sensation. They rubbed against each other frantically, sharing panting breaths and moans, until Taemin jerked and clenched his eyes.

“Hyung…hyung, I’m gonna…”

“Do it,” Jonghyun breathed, eyes fixed on Taemin’s flushed face as he pulled harder on their cocks. “Let me see you come, baby.”

Taemin trembled and cried out, body stiffening as his cock spurted come between their bodies. He jerked and trembled, slumping against Jonghyun as his orgasm passed. Jonghyun, hand now slick with Taemin’s come, pumped his own erection furiously, eyes drinking in the gorgeous sight of Taemin in an orgasmic daze. With a grunt, his body stiffened and he came hard, adding to the mess between them.

The dance room was silent except for their panting breaths. Finally Jonghyun hummed and stood straight, helping Taemin regain his balance and grimacing at the mess they’d made of their practice clothes. “Come on, we’d better get to the showers.”

“Mmm,” Taemin agreed distractedly, before his mind began sharpening out of its orgasm- and Jonghyun-induced haze. “H-Hyung? Why…Why did you…with me…”

Jonghyun turned to face him, eyes warm with fondness. “Because I like you, Taeminnie. I like you a lot.” He laughed sheepishly and scratched the back of his head. “I should probably have asked you before we, um, did anything, but…Do you wanna go on a date with me? I’d really like that.”

Taemin stared, eyes round in shock. Then he smiled. “I’d love that, hyung.”

-

Jonghyun had never felt so nervous in his life. Meeting the man whom Taemin referred to as his motherly best friend was more nerve-wracking than his first performance. More, even, than when he’d had to come out to his fanbase about his true sexual orientation and how the lead dancer in his new video was his boyfriend.

There was just something about how Key stared at him. Lips twisted in a thoughtful pout, brow slightly raised and eyes just looking at him so deep; Jonghyun felt his soul was about ready to faint. Not even the small squeezes that Taemin was giving him as they held hands was good enough to calm him down. Not under Key’s ‘I am definitely judging you hard’ look.

“Well it wasn’t like I didn’t know,” Key rolled his eyes. “The whole damn world knows. I would be stupid not to know.”

Taemin sighed in relief and smiled brightly as Jonghyun’s lips quivered into a decent smile. “So you approve, hyung? I mean the company doesn’t really, so we need all the support we can get.” Taemin dropped Jonghyun’s hand and grabbed onto Key’s, undoubtedly giving him his infamous puppy dog look.

Key sighed and nodded his head, which caused Taemin to erupt into a loud squeal of giggles as he hugged his best friend. Jonghyun instantly felt more at ease, though he could tell it wasn’t going to be easy to get Key’s favor fully. “I am only accepting because you don’t the need the bullshit,” Key confirmed Jonghyun’s idea.

Jonghyun looked around Key’s small apartment as Taemin and Key talked and gossiped like high school girls. He scratched his brow as he thought he recognized a couple of the things on what seemed to be an accompaniment display. Then there was a hi-tech little setup, like a small producing studio, and then a giant black piano as well. Now that Jonghyun thought about it, Key’s apartment was definitely not a usual one for a trainee. It was very unusual…

“Kibum-ah, I’m home.” The apartment door opened to reveal none other than Onew, Jonghyun’s producer. Both Taemin and Jonghyun’s jaws almost hit the floor as the other dancer simply walked over and greeted the producer with a small kiss. Onew was all smiles until he realized who was in his living room. “Oh, Jonghyun. Taemin.”

There a second of silence before Taemin jumped up. “Yah! How, this whole time, what?” He couldn’t even get his words out correctly.

“How long has this been going on?” Jonghyun exclaimed.

Key chuckled and shrugged his shoulders, simply stating, “Some people are just good at keeping secrets.”
