I'm not sure I need 5 masks for my CPAP....
But I've somehow managed to get them...
When I had my initial sleep study with the mask on, the tech sent me home with the tube and mask they used for me. Makes sense, they can't use it for a new patient, so why not.
Then when my machine came in, it came with another mask. Again, sensible, the prescribing dr and the medical supplier have no idea the tech sent my test mask home with me.
One mask and a back up, bonus!
At my last appointment with my Respiratory Specialist I asked about other mask styles, and he sent me to talk to the in office tech to try out some other styles. One kind sat on my face better and didn't have the annoying forehead piece that just made the skin there dry and flaky. Again the tech sent me home with the sample
This was good, I had a mask that fit better, was more comfortable and I had 2 back ups, double bonus!
In between then(last Respiratory appointment was in early January) and May was that I'd not heard from my medical supplier about replacement parts, and the return of the monitor unit my insurance required the first few months. The guy who runs the supplier said about 6 months, it'd been over a year.
I put off worrying about calling my supplier, my masks were still in excellent shape and I had 3 total, and 2 hoses...
Week of our party (the 25th of May area.) a friend of our who traveled in for our party and also uses a CPAP realized he'd managed to forget his machines power cord, and no other adapter would run it, so we called my supplier, being the closest one that deals in CPAP supplies. They had one that he could buy($50 to rent a full machine for a week $25 to buy a cord....)
I went with our friend to help him find the place, and to take the chance to see what was up with the lack of contact about my supplies(some of which I blame on they moved office, but c'mon)
The woman who helped us took my info, and my supplier called me back to see what supplies I needed, and said I could pick them up at the earliest the next week on Tuesday.
I did this, so now I had 4 masks, 3 Hoses(and more filters, filters gooood) 2 I really liked and 2 that worked, but I'm not crazy about. The extra's fit in the carry bag for traveling with my machine, it was all good.

Today I noticed a package on the porch, but wasn't able to bring it in till about an hour ago when I suddenly remembered it was there.
It was from my medical supplier, and it was another mask, hose and filters......
I'm not sure if he forgot I came in and picked up a set, or if he felt bad for the lack of checking if I needed supplies for more than a year....
So now I have 5 masks, 4 hoses and more filters(again, filters gooooood)
Now I need a box for this mess.
