Summary: Itachi doesn't like water.
Warnings: OOCness, coz I'm not an Itachi-expert, you know :P Spoilers about Itachi and Tsukiyomi and blah, blah :D Standard warnings regarding an action anime like Naruto? :D
There were very few things that Itachi liked.
He liked his little brother-liked the feeling of being that foolish one's center of attention and worship when he was still young; liked the feeling of being the one who crushed that innocent and hopeful spirit; liked the feeling of being the one who was the goal of his brother's haywire life.
He liked fire-liked the searing touch of warmth that embraced him whenever he wielded it; liked the blazing colors of red and orange, reminding him of his mission to capture the Kyuubi no Kitsune; liked the enthralling ability of reducing anything and everything into cinders and nothingness.
He-
-He doesn't like water.
He disliked water-disliked the cool, comforting caresses it made against his skin, as though he wasn't a sinner who bathed in a pool of his Clan's blood; disliked the unpredictable surges of un-shape and un-confinement; disliked the color that was entirely too similar to the sky above, something that he obliterated once he introduced the haven of the Red Moon.
As though to make things interesting, Hoshigake Kisame, a creature that thrived in the water, was the one assigned to him as his partner.
Contrary to his thoughts regarding water-and anything related to it-Kisame didn't try to give him comforting words or caresses that spoke of pity, underestimation and understanding. Itachi was more than fine with that, since he highly doubted anybody could fully understand the inner workings of his mind. Kisame wasn't unpredictable, and he followed whatever Itachi said or suggested. Kisame wasn't frightened or driven away by the bloodlust and stench of corpses and blood whenever he opened the genjutsu of Tsukiyomi.
Kisame wasn't uncaring either; the blue-skinned man loved to fuss over the scarlet-eyed male whenever his genjutsu wore him out; the shark-man loved showing him around towns whenever they have 'free time' in their mission schedule, no matter how much Itachi forbid him to.
There were very few things that Itachi liked.
He might not like it much, but given time, he's pretty sure that Kisame would soon join the short list of things that Itachi likes.
