It seemed as though Jiraiya was the only one not vain enough to preserve his youth, from the looks of things. Orochimaru looked like he did all those years ago, though nobody could argue with the fact that he looked infinitely more sinister now than he did before. Those golden eyes, snake-like, and not hiding their evil intent even by the slightest bit, and damn it, she could still remember…

No-that was the past, and the past included her younger brother, her loved one, the Sandaime, her bickering with Jiraiya, her once-upon-a-time attraction with… No, the past was all gone. Gone, gone, gone-

"Come to think of it, we've never fought, have we, Tsunade?" Orochimaru's voice was still raspy, filled with malicious intent, but every time her amber-colored eyes strayed towards the still-young-looking face, she could see the blurred lines of her ex-teammate, her ex-crush, Konoha's ex-prodigy… Ex, ex, ex-

"No, we haven't," Tsunade agreed dryly, her tone disinterested, though her heart as pounding crazily away. It's true; they haven't went against each other before, because why would they? Before, Tsunade was content to stay beside the other male, because he was logical and didn't do irrational and stupid things like Jiraiya favored. Before, they were a respected, fiery team, and they were all together.

We have always been together.

-.-.-.-

Each punch felt so wrong, so right, so heartrending, so disgusting, and her mind is all a swirl of thoughts, her heart fighting against the confines of her ribs with all its might. Her vision is slightly blurred, her chakra pouring steadily towards her fists, rendering each of her punches truly destructive.

Orochimaru's pale make-up kept on getting smudged against her knuckles, and she could remember all those times when she would peck his cheeks (his cheeks covered by the layer of pale powder, which she found so cute during those times), all those times when she blushed as she smiled at Orochimaru's acceptance.

There's something wrong, so wrong, with the way Orochimaru wasn't fighting back, allowing himself to be punched to the face, to the cheeks-cheeks, peck, all those times, blush-and Tsunade snarled, fighting off against the strains of her twisting muscles. Her aging body protested against the overexertion-after all, it wasn't quite often that she had this much of a work-out-but she pushed, pushed, pushed-

This was her only chance at showing her anger, her anger about the things that happened, about her helplessness when she wasn't able to join Jiraiya in stopping their ex-teammate, when she locked herself inside her room after she found out that Orochimaru had been declared as a missing nin.

Even when her loved one, no, I wouldn't remember their names now, reminded her of Orochimaru; aside from his overwhelming respectfulness and kindness, Tsunade had seen purplish-black long hair and delicately-pale face.

The thought of that made her reel back for a slight moment, before she grasped Orochimaru's slimy tongue, not wanting to remember that the same tongue had licked her cheek naughtily during their rare dates, the same tongue that she's now gripping to put her teammate near her.

…We have always been together…

-.-.-.-.-

"He escaped," Jiraiya said dully, his tone betraying the hint of fatigue he felt, but the swirling irritation and hatred towards Orochimaru not fading away.

Tsunade nodded, feeling her genjutsu wear out for a while, but it returned after she stabilized her breathing. She nodded to Shizune and the Frog Hermit, before they made their way away from this area covered with dents, cracks and blood.

Someday, Tsunade thought, as she caught a glimpse of her own youthful hands, I'll be able to punch that bastard again.

Someday…

And with a side-glance at her white-haired ex-teammate, she smiled a small remorseful, yet wistful smile.

We will be together again.

End

Hmm, the anger theme instantly inspired me to write this pairing -.-;; Anger, as in Tsunade's anger. It's not really very romantic, but Tsunade's recollections of her past "relationship" with the Snake Sannin was kinda… I dunno, wistful xP
