What I have is a sleeping disorder called sleep paralysis. 1 in every 100 people have had one of these dreams before... and only 30% of those people have had it more than once.

Sleep paralysis is a condition in which someone, most often lying in a supine position, about to drop off to sleep, or just upon waking from sleep realizes that s/he is ( Read more... )

i heard that the reason ppl cant move after the dream is because your soul leaves your body when u sleep and that if u get woken up before it gets back in your body u cant move.....and the thing u see in the room or above you or on you is yourself. dont know if its true but heh....it could happen

I had one of those last week!!!! I remember reading up on it a long time ago.. or was there a special on tv about it? Hmm.. I forget.. but I did experience something quite similar to what your description describes. I was laying on my back asleep, and then I woke up.... (or so I thought I was awake) and I felt someone behind me. I tried to get up to turn around and look, but I couldn't. I really really felt someone was there.. and it was scaring me because I couldn't get up to turn around and see who it was. I was awake... but my eyes kept closing... and I kept trying to open them. But when I would, I still wouldn't move. -=huggles her=- It's scary. I'm glad it's only happened that once.

Isn't is scary? Sometimes I'm scared to go to sleep cause I'm afraid to have one of those dreams. I get them about once a month. Your lucky!! I wish I had only had it once.

For the longest time I didn't know it was common with some people. I thought I was just weird.. o.o; and I didn't wanna tell anyone cause I thought they wouldn't believe me!! I'm just glad I'm not the only one with the problem. ^^;
