That's too bad more foreigners didn't attend. Sometimes I think we take it for granted and think we're used to the inclimate weather that hits Japan but you still never know how bad it could get, right? Aside from the earthquake, there's also the seasonal typhoons. I knock on wood and count myself lucky that in Okinawa the worst the typhoons ever got was downed trees on the road but you never hear about buildings breaking down. I guess because the Japanese and Okinawans have prepared well over the decades being so used to it. The earthquakes are usually scarier for me than the typhoons. I live in California so I've already experienced my share of earthquakes here, and it always freaks me out because they are always unexpected and I never know how bad it will shake. At least with typhoons there are forecasts to gage when one will come and how bad the wind will be. Anyway, thank you for sharing your photos. Yes!!! Come!!! We were also planning for a field trip to the Disaster Prevention Center in north Chiba but almost no one signed up (JLPT was that day D: bad timing) so we're probably gonna do it in the fall! You should come with us~
Now that I know what it actually is, it seems like they bring it out at a lot of events, so I'm sure you'll have plenty of chances to ride it! The less people riding it at once, the more terrifying it is XD
