[There is a number of thoughtful taps of the pen.]
I have a number of questions, after the discussions on the journal today.
First and foremost: Can a system run efficiently if the components know their roles and not their purpose? Why is it that our society runs so smoothly, until there is a sudden reminder that there may be more than what we know? Can we not live in contentment? Is it simply our curiosity, or do we find those with more power than ourself offensive?
Along the same vein... what if this is for our own benefit? What if this is truly the best way for us all to exist?
On another topic entirely... what is the ratio of humans to nonhumans here? Even for myself, it is impossible to keep tabs on everyone. It is a curiosity of mine.
Finally... is all Machiavellian thinking detrimental?
