Hear hear!!!

It's sad to think that those kids are trying to do the right thing, but they've been SO misled. I blame PETA... and the PTA :P And possibly the parents.

Those are some bang-on counterarguments, Steve. Maybe you should be gunning for a job in politics. You seem like one of the few people out there willing to tell, and back-up, the truth!

McMahon said the youth wanted to tie animal rights and vegetarianism into "humin" rights. She explained the unusual spelling of the word was to avoid the word "man" in humin or womin, or "male" in the word femail.

What a bunch of politically correct self-aggrandizing hogwash.

As well, to do with your comment on the snouts, brains, etcetera: in past times humans would make use of EVERY part of an animal, and the species survived. Just be a smart buyer and know that if it does not say "100% meat" it's probably got some other animal bits in it, which is effectively a more efficient way to produce food anyway.

Good job speaking up, Steve. That article rubbed me the wrong way :P No good sources, and quotes like "everyone was just screaming at each other" used for drama and with no other purpose or proof. Bah.

I'm in class now and just finished a book review and article summary, so this stuff is strongly on my mind, but being in class I can't write more. I may digress again later =) Thanks for the provocative post! How's your kitty?

The fight continues

Editorial Remarks

I am thinking of sending one in as well, with documented sources.

As well, as my taxes go to pay for public education in this province, I plan on making a full written complaint to the school board for allowing this to take place. School is supposed to be about learning. Exclamatory arguments with no supporting evidence are only designed to elicit emotion. It is not good science, and not a cogent way to construct an argument.
