Crimes of which I am apparently guilty.

While I was at work, my father, who has guessed about my relationship with Fang (but doesn't know ANY details) went on a huge tear that lasted for hours.  He was apparently ranting and raving to my brother for a few hours, then to my mother and my brother after he picked her up from work.

Wow, that really sucks. :/

Ideally, after you demonstrate to him that Fang is genuine and good hearted, he'll "see the light" and give up his ideas about her being some evil influence on you and the family.

If not, well, that's his problem, no? Filial piety goes both ways. If you were dealing drugs and running a brothel, well, that might merit some concern on his part, but you're with a Chinese girl -- what the hell is the big deal?

Again, the virtue of filial piety is a two way street. You can be loyal to him, but he is also obligated to return it both in actions and words, no?

Jebus... he sounds like Peter Griffin's Dad. O.O

That kind of reaction is why I have never discussed my relationship with J with my Father.
Tho, my Dad doesn't have a religious platform to stand on... There was one night when my Grammas were over, and we were all watching TV. I misheard "Iron Gate" and "I am gay", pointed that out to my brother, and my father said "if so, you're out of the house." and went on a rant...

Your Father is being an absolute fool, and just making himself look like an asshole.
If I meet the man, I'll be sure to call him McCarthy...or Bush.

No... no you can't pick your family...Thankfully, you are able to pick your friends. :D

PS It's time to move out. :P
