Summary: One must never see the Vongola's bright Sun shed tears. Or else, what hope is there if the Sun's smile disappears?

His mind was one with his blade. Swinging left, right and left again, sweat rolled down Yamamoto Takeshi's face as he trained furiously in the empty room. The song of Shigure Kintoki's slices cut through the silence of the night, hacking away as he trained to perfection.

His thoughts were filled with images of his father, replaying his words over and over again, knowing they were the last memories of his voice. He was gone in this time, even if he hadn't directly experienced the sight himself, he was sure he would try his hardest not to let those memories be the last of his father. There had to be a way to prevent this future, he kept saying to himself as he burst out into a fury of slices.

Suddenly, Takeshi stopped.

He thought he was alone. A full minute of silence confirmed his suspicions, he did hear something faint amongst his slashes. Slowly, he walked towards the door, following the mysterious yet faint sound he was hearing.

He did not expect what he saw. Admittedly, he wouldn't think he would see this image ever in his life. The sounds led him to a crouching future Ryohei, eyes showing signs of insomnia. Wait, were those tears in his eyes??

"Ah?...Y-Yamamoto?!"

Bandaged fists quickly wiped the faint traces of his tears. No one was meant to see the extremely loud Sun Guardian bawl in a dark corner in the middle of the night. A teenager seeing a grown man cry was so not extreme- what kind of a role model would he be to those kids who came from the past if they saw him like this?

"Is there something wrong Sempai?"

"Ah-uh...nothing, I just have some extreme dust mites in my eye!"

Truth be told, even the older Ryohei himself was sure no one would ever believe what he just said. Looking at the worried face Yamamoto was worrying, he had a hunch that he was right. With a sigh he hung his head as he forced a small cough. "I guess there's no use hiding it huh?"

It all started with an innocent run in his extreme routine. They were to infiltrate Melone Base in just over a day- time was running out for everyone to be prepared as much as they could. Everyone was set into training to the limit, tutors putting the kids to the test, just like how it had been in the Ring battles about ten years ago. He couldn't help but think of Master Colonello's wise words, shaping the way he trained since becoming the Vongola's Sun Guardian.

Tears began to stream down Ryohei's face once more as his voice showed signs of sobbing. He hid his pathetic face from the young Rain Guardian, hiding any signs of weakness that would topple the kid's sense of confidence. However, the images of a still Colonello popped up once more in his head, fueling the boxer's head with more painful memories.

"It's a bit shameful to the extreme..." he whispered, "I'm not the only one who has lost a master, and you yourself seem more composed than this old man."

"I don't know about that, I'm shaking everytime I hold Shigure Kintoki, myself," Takeshi forced a smile. "What I do know though is, if we don't stop this future from happening, then I really will lose my master- or more importantly, my dad..."

For the first time since that meeting Ryohei brought his head up and stared at Yamamoto's disappearing smile. He knew the pain of losing a master but this kid beside him- he had yet to experience it directly. So it should stay that way to the extreme, he thought as his eyes began to burn in determination as he suddenly stood up.

"Let's sure that won't happen to the extreme!" A brighter tone finally filled the Sun Guardian's voice. Yamamoto looked up to see Ryohei's smile again- determined to help bring hope to whatever hell awaits in the near future. That said, he could see a hint of gratitude in that expression, the Sun Guardian was back all thanks to Yamamoto.

"Right," Takeshi smiled back. Melone Base waits.
