Alrighty then, here's some more. Its getting near the end of the chapter. The last post marked about halfway.
"Last, Team Thirteen: Himura Kei, Akiyama Kareha, Nakamura Ren."
Both, Himura-san and Akiyama-chan twisted to look toward Ren, simultaneously--it was kind of creepy-- to regard him, one with raised eyebrows, one with a smile. And, Ren could not decide whether to be happy that he was actually teamed up with Akiyama-chan or annoyed that he was also teamed up with Himura-san.
That is when his stomach growled, loudly. Snickers rippled through the room. Ren's face went red in embarrassment. He had forgotten, he did not get a chance to eat breakfast that morning.
"Well, I'm sure you'll agree with Ren-kun that it's time for lunch," said Shizuka-sensei, expression amused, "I suggest that you spend this break getting to know your new team. After the break you'll get to meet your Jounin sensei. Class dismissed."
The sound of chattering voices and feet shuffling toward the door filled the air as everyone rose from their seats and joined thier teammates. Ren did not rise with the rest. Breakfast had not been the only thing Ren had forgotten. He had also forgotten his lunch. His stomach protested by clinching with hunger pangs. Ren told it to shut up. He knew he had to leave the classroom with everyone else, but his face had not returned to its natural color. He did not want the others to see just how embarrassed he was. So, he would just wait until everyone else had left, then he would leave. Ren nodded to himself. That sounded like a good plan.
"Ree-een" a voice sing-songed from somewhere above him, it sounded remarkably close, " Whatcha doing still sitting here, silly?"
That is when he recognized the chipper voice. Ren looked up sharply, his head colliding with something hard. A yelp shot through the air, Ren was not sure if it had come from him or Akiyama-chan. Heavy foot steps followed as the girl stumbled a few steps back.
There was a tense pause, Ren inwardly berating himself. He did not dare look up, he was too mortified to look up.
"Ow," said Akiyama-chan, belatedly, slightly muffled.
Ren snuck a peek out the corner of his eye. Akiyama-chan was standing there one hand pressed over her nose and partly covering her mouth. She pulled it back, to give her palm a brief critical stare, revealing a now bright red nose.
"Wow, you have a really hard head," she informed him, cheerful tone and ever present smile back.
Had it not been Akiyama-chan and Ren not who he was, he would have thrown back that she had a really hard nose. Somewhere beyond the throbbing where nose had met head, Ren realized he should apologize.
Ren opened his mouth to do just that and botched it, "I-I-I." Why could he not get the words out?
Crap, damn you ADD!! Sorry this one is so short.
