This 'girl' thing. hah. What a great way to put it.
It was a severe case of "right girl, wrong time. Severely wrong time."
Like, the only worse time would possibly have been just before I was about to be hit by a bus. (which I sort of was, metaphorically)
I could point you to a ton of locked lj entries if you're really curious and want to stand back and watch the beautiful carnage.
It's just that I still find myself in love with her, or rather with the her I knew then. I know people change, so...it's that eternal question. If I met her now, would we still click so firmly? The hopeful optimistic romantic in me says, "YES! Of course! PURPLE!", but the realist in me that's been slapped around by the world, well...thinks he knows a little differently. Still, there's that itch to email her, just to say hi and see what happens. It's an itch I've learned to live with though. Sometimes the not knowing is better than the knowing. or at least, that's what I tell myself.
