Yeah really. I personally thought Conway was literally the best character they ever produced and had loads more personality than the majority of Dawn's rivals (not to mention I think he's still appeared in more episodes than all of them except Zoey and Jessie), yet they hold him off until the end. And pit him against the main character he never actually spoke to. Uh, well, I'm sure it'll be awesome either way, but this could have been so much better arranged. And for some reason DP just seemed to hit that glass ceiling as far as the anime will allow for epic badasses and rivals with actual personality that appear throughout the series. How in the hell will they top Paul and Barry, really ( ... )

Yeeeeah... DP is screwy like that. Hardly following any of the standards of its predecessors.

I think it's pretty much assured that Ash's DP arc will end on a good note, given how much they've actually built up these rivalries. No matter who wins and who loses (unless it's Nando, who doesn't even need to be there), I'm sure the League will largely be entertaining.

The GF... not so much. One thing I am looking forward to in Gen V is a shake-up in the new girl's journey. I feel like the Contests have pretty much worn out their welcome at this point. Did anyone really even give a damn about them in the games...?

pfffff you're totally right. Holy crap. Also, congrats on that great deal of fame you earned on dA. XD

Based on what I was told, it looks like my contact with the customers will be minimal at best. I'll be running around doing the paper work and the mail. ♥

YEAH HOW THE SHIT DID THAT HAPPEN??? +_________+
I kinda wonder what I'm supposed to do now with all this ATTENTION paid to me. ^^; Do I have to start attending meetings? Advocating specific causes?? shamelessly plug people i like...? XD

Fff, "customers". XD All of us in America are your customer now, Shin~ ♫ Best to treat taxes as a kind of mutually beneficial partnership, imho.

Now you know how I felt when all of a sudden I got a crowd flocking to my Pokemon fic. Only your case is a much higher degree of win. XD Keep gaining influence and you'll be able to to anything you want.

Hooopefully I won't be working with numbers much. In my hands, all your taxes are royally fucked because of my godawful math. But as a simple clerk, it sounds like I'm going to be a background minion and I'm good with that. ♥ Especially if I don't have to answer phones.

Eh, I think all iterations of Pokemon have improved in terms of characterization/plot direction/etc. within the D/P/Pt arc, so it's not too unreasonable to assume that there'll be a new batch of well-developed characters in the B/W arc. Also, wasn't Gary still Ash's rival for most of Johto? Since Paul's sort of superseded Gary as Ash's rival, it'd probably make sense for him to be the rival in the B/W arc, especially if Ash does manage to beat him. I don't really know Paul that well, but everything I know about him indicates that he won't take losing to Ash lightly even if he does mellow out ala Silver in the games. ...actually, considering how long it took Silver to catch on that not taking your Pokemon's feelings into consideration was a bad thing ( ... )

Yeah, Gary was still the official rival during Johto, but I think the amount of his appearances in that superlong series could be counted on one hand, so his presence was barely felt. At least the writers learned from that and had Paul showing up more often, stirring up the shit for serious business pretty much every episode he was in. I agree that with the writing this improved that Paul's not going to have a turnabout overnight. It'd be nice to show his gradual change from time to time, but part of me also thinks it's just as logical that he'll be shipped off to Kanto's Battle Frontier so he can finally beat his daddy Brandon. The fact that the anime itself has become unpredictable in ways is sort of amazing itself, given how... predictable it tended to be in the past.

I'm like almost certain that Contests will be phased out in Gen V for something else. If it's the Pokeathlon, I pray the anime steps up on that because their one episode in DP dedicated to it royally sucked. Unless they actually do Gen III remakes, which I honestly ( ... )

Even if Paul does head off to the Kanto Battle Frontier it doesn't mean that he'll be gone for the whole arc, so there's also a chance he could do both. It might make for a good Wham Episode.

Well, I think that if the Pokeathlon becomes prevalent enough in Gen V that they dedicate the female trainer's character arc to it, they're going to step it up. The D/P arc probably BSed it because it wasn't important at the time.

I... yeah I don't think Gen III remakes will happen unless the GBA becomes obsolete the way Gen I-II did. I do want them, though, because I feel like RSE were really damn good games, they just... suffered slightly from being too experimental and coming out at a time when a lot of fans were too old for it to be hit with the nostalgia filter. If they were polished to Gen IV-V levels and the experimental-ness were addressed, I think it could make a shitton of money.

Hmm, that's understandable. I doubt contests will be gone completely, but I can understand phasing them out in favor of the shiny new distraction of the
