Apparently I tl;dr even when I make abridged notes for my chapter plans, because space limitations mean I need another post to continue onward with that. So yeah. These are the latest Trifecta plans, though it'll be a loooong, long time before they come into play and are subject to change. It's officially planned out to Chapter 37Plans for ( Read more... )

How do you plan on handling the whole Dawn-going-to-Hoenn angle if you plan on making her Conway's Rival?

God, I hated that.

My first rough idea of working around that? She boarded the wrong ship and ends up in Kanto. Basically she's running very late for her ship and doesn't realize there was more than one boat in the port set to leave around the same time, so when there's only one left she just assumes it's the one for Hoenn and gets on. And only after she boards and leaves does Johanna realize "oh dear she boarded the wrong ship".

Ahaha.

Lol!

I was thinking something along the lines of

[Idea notification, just in case you don't want any]

her still going to Hoenn, but with enough time before the contests begin, she decides to go visit Ash/Brock in Kanto since the pokestylist event prevented her last time. She comes but just misses Ash who's gone to Unova, and after finding out that the Kanto Grand Festival is harder to pass (appeal-wise anyway, forcing you to use only one move) and the presence of a rival (Conway), she decides to stay.

[End Idea]

Anyway I really like how you wrap up this arc. It really ends the DP era on a complete note, while giving the sense of a brand new adventure on the horizon. Although I never cared much for Conway's family, It'll really be interesting how you write their reaction to him being alive and THEN the revelation that he's going to leave once again. Though I have to say you've really been strong when it comes to writing family and personal relationships, so it should be good. Can't wait.
