Summary: The beauty was what always got to him. If it was beautiful, he wanted it, and usually he got it, he broke their wings so they couldn't fly away, so they would always belong to him. He used them up then left them broken. That was always the case, but now...
This is an overdue story for Sandraookami<---She drew me a pic and I promised he I would write the story around it. Just so you know it will get there.
Scattered Feathers
He was distancing away from him. Every time he called, he was either busy or too tired to pick up the phone.
It was his way of doing things. He had lined up, project, after project, after project.
He was overworking himself. To everyone else, it would seem he was just being himself but no, he knew better. Something was bothering him. Something big.
At first he tried to ignore it and it worked for a while, but now it was getting more bothersome than he had first thought. He was being ridiculous.
That was the reason why, suddenly he was in front of Yoshikis record label. He had a feeling he would be there.
Shaking his head slightly he walked forward, the doors swished open and then closed once he was inside. The front desk immediately looked up.
Giving a slight head nod he continued forward toward the elevator.
The music was boring. He will have to say something to Yoshiki about it. Honestly he was YOSHIKI, what was he doing with elevator music actually playing in the elevator?
Straight ahead, a turn left, another left, a right, then a left again and he was in front of the office.
Walking forward passed the secretary, who got up to object but one look at him, sat back down.
A barely audible knock, a few seconds of waiting then he could hear the faint sound of piano music playing, explaining why Yoshiki had yet to invite him in.
Knocking louder this time, the music stopped and a faint “yes” floated toward him.
Pushing the door handle down he pushed the door slightly in and peeked his head inside.
“Am I interrupting anything?” knowing very well he wasn’t. Still it was polite to ask especially since he had arrived unannounced.
“No, but I will say it is a great surprise,” his voice was even, no shock at his sudden appearance, just business.
“Well, come in, don’t just stand there,” And with that he opened the door all away, stepped inside and pulled the door shut behind him.
Yoshiki got up from his piano stool, signaled fro him to take a seat. A slight nod of thanks and he sat down, the other took the seat behind the big table that was filled with papers.
An awkward pause, then Yoshiki let out a sigh.
“Gackt?”
“That obvious?” He raised his eyebrow at the question.
“Why else would Hyde from L’arc~en~Ciel be at my door?” Good answer.
Hyde let out a breath he was holding in all along and didn’t even know. His whole façade faded to be left with a very tired looking man.
“Right,” and he couldn’t seem to think of what he had rehearsed in his head since waking up this morning. He was drawing a complete blank.
“You just missed him,” Yoshikis voice came to him and he let out a desperate chuckle.
At Yoshikis questioning look he elaborated.
“I always seem to be missing him, at his place, dinner, lunch, phone calls, and now here,” he sounded pitiful even to his own ears.
“Yes-“ At the soft tone coming from Yoshiki he cut in. He wasn’t here for counseling.
“Look I’m sorry I barged here unannounced, and sorry for taking up your time but since he isn’t here I’ll just be heading back.” With that he stood abruptly, his façade in place. Hyde, the rock star.
“Thank you,” With that he didn’t wait for Yoshiki to dismiss him and walked out closing the door behind him.
The secretary was looking at him from the corner of her eyes and he gave her a slight smile and saw the blush start to creep up on her face.
In the elevator he remembered he totally forgot to tell Yoshiki about the music, at the front desk he remembered he was out of milk, at his front door he remembered the two weeks of loneliness and on his bed is where he lay and its where sleep claimed him, alone.
TBC.
I know it’s not long enough, but I need to get ready for work and I will continue it soon! Also I dont have a beta reader so there might be mistakes here and there. I apologize in advance for that.
