I think the characters was in character, Tucker being a more fuck-it person while Reed is a bit crazed. :)
I also thought it was quite cute of Malcolm to leave a paper note in Tucker's boot. :) The tension and raunchiness between them was a very good element and I can imagine them being like that because of who they are. A bit like forbidden fruit, ey? Another great line was when Tucker realized he stood in front of Major Reed in his undies. I thought it was a bit funny. :)
I do hope it work out between them... the mirror universe could always need a bit of love and caring. Although they most likely does it in another way. In the end, love is love, no matter how it's expressed. :)

The Mirror universe is, as you said, a lot darker. It's not an environment that really supports a romance, and I wanted to show that while still retaining some of Reed and Tucker's character from the original universe. Yep, like forbidden fruit!
And hey, maybe it does work out for them. It wouldn't be pretty, but it'd be there. It wouldn't be a romance, but they'd fuck, and sometimes, sometimes, Tucker would think it was something more.
