>_< I LOVE the Offspring so much! I went to Camden the other day, which for those of you that dont know is a town full of punks, goths and great individuals, its a really interesting place to be, espescially for a baggy jeans-er like myself to be able to walk down the streets and fit in. I usually get the 'looks' in my home town for daring to not ( Read more... )

Camden is here, in the merry town of Londonia, Englandonia, of the UKonia. Its a nice little town (during the day xD) although theyre a bit obsessed with drugs, they even have drugs lollypops outside all the shops :s i never touch the stuff so i find it quite tiresome but if you like the more rock/punk side of life its a fantastic place :D!

A town full of punks and goths .. that manage to coexist? Now that'd be something interesting to see. But maybe mindsets are different there.
Out here, self professed 'Punks' (not the skater-tots) if you put two of them in a room together, the conversation would go something like this:
"So, which bands do you like?"
"I like so and so."
"What? That's all mainstream garbage. You're not a punk. I'm more punk than you, because I listen to some band nobody has ever heard of."
To quote Lagwagon, 'Kids don't like to share.'

The new Offspring album has some standout good songs, overall, I still like their older albums better. (Self titled, Ignition, Smash..) also.. have you heard of the aforementioned Lagwagon, or No Use For A Name? They might be something you'd like checking out.

We actually have the hardcore british punks (the ones who are punk because of their lifestyle and not the music they listen to), they just sort of wander the high street with their friends whilst waving about banners and hanging out in the punk cd shops. The Goths hang out in the death metal shops, the ones that sell all the...scary things. I would say they do coexist, because to be honest i dont see much of their interaction, they tend to stick with their own kind. Then we have the skaters who tend to be 15 years old and listen to New Found Glory and ....'Avril Lavigne' *shudder* and assume they are punk which annoys me greatly. Listening to a genre does not make you the personnefication of that genre. Skaters have trouble understanding this :I wouldnt class myself as anything other than myself. I happen to like that kind of music but i dont lead any of those lifestyles such as donning the mohawk, skating or...drinking blood (or pretending to) or whatever it is that goths do xD But anyways, yep. I have heard of Lagwagon and No Use ( ... )
