Day 11, late morning
[After
speaking with Aki, he wanted nothing more than to follow his double and work to smash the armies that threaten his people. It is hard to accept that he cannot do as he wishes, because he does not know what effect his interference would have on the natural balance of Shin Makoku.
It is something that has concerned him since he first opened his eyes and discovered that he had once again been clothed in living flesh. In all the time since, he has yet to find a satisfactory answer to exactly how it happened. He has heard the whispers that the doubles that currently populate the kingdom were brought to this world through his own will. If that is truth, he has no recollection of it.
He cannot think like this. Even with so many gone from the castle, the turbulent events have left their mark, and the intense energies of so many are still hard for him to deal with while in this body. He can feel his own powers coiling tight under the onslaught, and a part of him fears that if this continues he will lash out unconsciously and cause harm. He needs to escape this for a time; he must find somewhere to think about the situation objectively.
Taking a moment alert Edwyn to his intent to leave the castle itself for a time, he then walks through the gate without looking back. If anything important arises, Edwyn can contact him, and the time away should keep him from attempting to seize control of the entire situation as he wishes. As he goes, a streak of gray follows him out the gates, catching up to play at his heels as he walks into the nearby trees.]
Days 12-13
Day 13, 11:38pm
[Returning with the same lack of fanfare that had marked his leaving, he comes through the gates, dignified in the face of the guards that challenge him even though his clothes are dusty and his eyes tired. Hoping to avoid most of the castle residents, he takes a path through hallways that seem less used.
He had stretched himself to his limits, attempting to follow the flow of what was happening amidst his people, only to find that he was helpless to do anything about what he could see. It seems that he will be forced to act through others, a fact that grates on him when he thinks about how he and Edwyn were always at the fore of the battles in their own times. He chafes with the need to do something, and he hopes that he will find things better now than when he had left.]
{Edwyn?} [His mental voice shows some of the exhaustion that barely marks his physical bearing.] {Now that I have returned, what news is there of the castle? If you wish, I am about to take a bath...}
[Slipping through a door, he is glad to find the location deserted for the moment. He shrugs out of his clothes, and slides into the hot water with a relieved sigh. Leaning back, eyes closed, he tries to let some of his concern wash away with the dust that rinses off his skin in the bath.]
((OOC: Sora, darling, you were right and he's not in their rooms. He's in the Maou's baths, because old habits die hard. ^_^))
