Mawata and Yayoi at the park

Jun 11, 2005 22:20

Mawata had her hands clasped together in front of herself as she walked around the corner of the busy street straight into the lush park in the town's center. The young girl was determined to make her existence an improved one, and she slowed her pace as the sun shone down upon her. She sighed and let her hands drop to her sides and she smiled a ( Read more... )

Yayoi was thrilled with life, as per usual. It was a sunny day and there was ice cream to be had, and (possibly) friendly company to share it with. What could be better than that?

And to top it all off, the world was completely back to normal after that strange natural disaster that had hit the city just a short while ago. Yayoi noted with satisfaction that the sky was a clear blue, and there were birds singing in the park as she entered, looking for her friend's sister.

Picking up her pace a little, Yayoi wondered about Mawata. She was a very quiet girl, almost unnaturally so, and she always seemed to take so much to heart. Of course, Mawata was obviously not what she seemed, if she'd had this secret ... whatever it was ... going on with Sasame from Wordsgate all this time! Maybe that's why Mawata always appeared so aloof from everyone, because she was hiding her true feelings after Sasame broke her heart ( ... )

Mawata heard a shriek ring through her ears, dissolving all the thoughts which started to cross her mind.

"Mawata! Hey, over here! Ready for some ice cream?"

She immediately lifted her head gasping to herself; a look of astonishment on her face like someone had woken her from a sleep. Mawata took in a deep breathe and tried to contain herself as she saw people walking past her, where they looking at her oddly?

The girl snorted a little and continued to walk down the path, before scanning the area and spotting Himeno’s friend in front waving to her.

Mawata looked stunned for a moment before walking over; trying to not show that she was concerned or was thinking about the Leafe Knights, mainly Sasame, knowing this girl could cause her problems, clearly after what comment she had written in her journal.

’Just smile…’

Shyly she smiled a little as she came face to face to her sister’s friend, “Yayoi, you are here…early…” She said unsure exactly how to greet her.

Mawata seemed surprised for a second, Yayoi thought, but that was silly, because Mawata knew that she was coming after the comment in her journal! Yaoyi must have just caught her by surprise. She still looked a little upset, but ice cream would be just the thing to make Mawata's day brighter.

Yayoi smiled merrily at the green-haired girl's greeting. She still looked pretty shy. A chocolate ice cream cone was definitely in order.

"Do you really think so? I think I got here at the perfect time! It's a chocolate ice cream day, don't you think? Chocolate ice cream can make anything better!"

Maybe this would make Mawata less sad about everything. Yayoi knew that boys could be cruel, but sometimes chocolate ice cream and a good friend made everything seem less terrible.
