Hayate - Camp Ground

Jun 13, 2005 21:44

Hayate absently walked along the bank of a sparkling clear river, kicking a stone into the water before pushing his hands deeper into the pockets of his blue jeans. Leafunia surrounded him on every side and eased his mood out of the dark brooding state he'd been in since the previous night. Rolling up the long sleeves of his soft grey shirt, he ( Read more... )

((OOC: lol we can just have them take a nap and wake up if we feel like continuing...I'm game either way...*sneaks over and nabs Kei for a pillow since Hayate's too anal too*)

Hayate glared at Kei again and dropped his head back down to the grass. For a while there, it almost felt like they were having a moment. Musing over Kei and the other Knights, Hayate relaxed into the ground and idly ran his fingers across his stomach. Judging by the quiet from the his partner, their little discussion was completed or Kei was satisfied Hayate wasn't going to go running into the forest at the first sight of Sasame or Takako.

He was tempted to do just that anyway but he wouldn't.

"To each their own," he murmured softly before crossing his legs. Listening to the sound of the water running across the rocks, he felt another suspicious smile tugging at his lips. Perhaps this day wouldn't turn out to be so bad after all.

"Mmm." Kei barely heard Hayate's last words; the play of sunlight had lulled the peace back inside him and he peered at the world through a golden haze from under lowered lashes. A soft sigh, and the bright head dipped into his arms as he wrapped both of them around his loosely-clad knees. He still had things to do; unpack, arrange his tent, and so on... But he was just so tired.

Moments later Kei's breathing had evened out, and he had finally slipped into true sleep, curled in a bundle of turtleneck against the great mossy tree root at his back.

It really was quite remarkable how sleep could gentle the severity of his still-youthful face, easing the lines so habitually engraved in his brow that one did not notice them until they were smoothed out.

Hayate lifted his head, looking over and realizing Kei was probably asleep or ignoring him completely. From the lack of sound or movement, he was guessing the former. Propping up on his arms, he wondered if napping was contagious because the lazy warmth of the sunny day was tugging him into sleep.

Breathing deeply and evenly, Hayate fell asleep with an almost smile ghosting his lips.

Himeno began hearing the sounds of a crackling fire close by. She ran towards the sound and eventually came to the campfire surrounded by tents for herself, Takako and the Knights.

She dropped he bags beside a tent and went over and sat beside the fire. I wonder where Hayate is...He said he would come later but he can't have been that far behind she glanced around the fire and past the tents and could've sworn she saw something move. "Hayate?" She cried. But the lump didn't move. Himeno walked over to find two of the knights asleep: Hayate with his arm over Kei. She supressed her laughter but decided it was best, for both of thier sakes, to leave them alone until they woke up. The Pretear walked back to the campfire to get unpacked and wait for everyone to arrive and for Kei and Hayate to wake up.

[ooc: Sorry, I coudn't resist XDDD]
