So, Ruthie and I have finished Deathly Hallows. (Don't worry, no spoilers out in the open here.) And we've started setting each other writing assignments to fill in missing scenes or expanding scenes, etc
( Read more... )
he fights for Remus (a fourth goes down), she fights for Teddy (a fifth), she fights for her father (a sixth), she fights for the way Hermione looks at Ron Weasley when she thinks he’s not paying attention (a seventh), she fights for Harry who has already sacrificed so much and who has asked this one small thing in return (an eighth).
I found that bit incredibly poignant, and so very fitting. This was really quite beautiful, and I can definitely picture Remus and Tonks knowingly giving themselves up in order to save Harry. Brilliant. :)
Oh thank you! I'm so glad you liked it. I guess the reason I feel so strongly that they must have found themselves in a situation like this is that I have to believe that their death served a purpose. It protected Harry or some other student, or they took someone out with them or something. I just can't believe that both of them just got hit with the killing curse and then it was done you know. :)
Oh this is so, SO perfect. I didn't imagine this but now that I've read it, this is the way I want it to have been. Thank you so much for writing this, it really was perfect and made me tear up and tingle several times.
Really liked this. The scene in the book where we learn of Remus and Tonks's deaths was probably the biggest "WHAT?! NO!" moment in the entire thing for me, and, as other people said, I liked reading here what they were fighting for, and what their deaths meant, if that makes sense.
Yeah. It was like that for me too. One minute you're grieving for Fred and the next, bang, you find out both of them are gone. And then you're whisked away with Harry, so there isn't any time to process or gather more information.
Hm...I guess that is just a really long way of saying, I agree! :) Thanks for commenting.

But otherwise...I echo the other comments...that passage where she's cursing the DE's...pure gold. Very poignant. Love it.
