I'm lucky in that Steve's ideology is pretty close to mine, but I'm not even going to hint at the topic around my mother. She believes it's okay to outlaw hijabs in public.

But today I had a couple of students who were talking about how horrible it was that some states were now refusing to take Syrian refugees, so even though everything is really bleak, it's not completely bleak.
