If I hold my right arm facing away from me with the palm downward and then bend my wrist to the right, searing pain shouts from my wrist. This is painfull, very painfull.

:(

Don't do that?

This sounds like something typing related. Tips from the ergo people at my work: Try left handed mousing (this is more important if you're using a keyboard w/ a numeric keypad and a real mouse, if you're using a laptop it's not as big of a deal), be sure your upper arms are more or vertical and your lower arms are more or less horizontal when typing, move your hands left and right with your elbows more than your wrists, and don't rest your hand/arm/wrist on anything while typing.

I've got more if you want it.

How do trackballs weigh in? I've got one, right hand only. I can't stand using a mouse, comparitively, though I'll still do it if I have to.

Will: Feel better. Don't strain your wrists. Maybe look into a wrist brace for typing if it keeps up.

I'm not sure, the ergo people didn't specifically cover trackballs, but I think they're probably better because you can't do a lot of the bad things you can do with a mouse with them (related to movement).

The problem with them is all the nice ones are geared toward the right hand, and it's a shorter reach to a pointing device on the left than to one on the right (with a standard keyboard with a numeric keypad)

Of course, the ergo people didn't seem interested in getting us keyboard w/ keypads on the left that I know exist. :)

Keep on doing that, at least until you return my camera to me.
