Since I started thinking about wearing Hijab lately, I received a little inspiration from a good friend of mine in UK.

What do you see
when you look at me
Do you see someone limited,
or someone free

I agree. It's beautiful. Just wondering..have you heard about www.wafin.com? It's not bad as a website but I find it quite helpful sometimes. It makes me keep up with the news of the Moroccan community in the states. Try it if you have a chance.

taking on hijab is a big decsion, and its a big responsibility, wherever u go you will have to carry out the duties as a representative of arabs and muslims to the world bc hijab to foreingers is a symbol as much as it is anything else. make sure you really understand all that it entails and that you are really convinced. I was veiled for 6 years and it destroyed my selfesteem bc I wasnt reay for it when I did it. But I dont want to discourage you at all, just want u to be more informed than I was, Good luck to you.

I agree and I totally understand your point. I decided to put on hijab 4 years ago, but unfortunatly, my parents were against it. (They were not fully informed about this matter AT ALL)
To be honest with you, I want to wear it so I can tell people I am an arab and yes I am MUSLIM, and very proud to say so.I want to make a difference. I want to show people the real Islam and not the cartoons they watch on CNN about terrorists and terrorism, and how this latter are linked to our beautiful religion.. But as you said, I need to be fully prepared to take this responsibility on my shoulders.

Thanks for sharing your opinion..I truly appreciate it.
