If zombies sprung up in town I’d like to imagine I’d be coolheaded and smart enough to survive. But can you be too smart for zombies? The scientists always seem to fall first. Life is a delicate balance, zombies or not.
Not for a zombie attack though, since Costco would be a likely place for most people to go to and therefor a likely place for zombies to roam. Any large metropolitan area is actually a bad place. Honestly I would think about going to a big 5 just for guns, but even then that's risky.

I've honestly thought about this scenario before and tried to think if I'd make it. I think I could...get me a shovel and I am golden. When zombies do strike, lets meet up on Heyer, because clearly both of us have thought about it and will therefore be more prepared.
get to a high building with few routes, that way you can control access. Swords and guns work well, shovels and light axes with a long reach are fine too. For this and much more practical advice, check out Max Brooks's "Zombie Attack Survival Guide" from your local library. Be prepared for the undead menace!
But first you have to gather food and arms and then find a good building - and if other people are thinking the same thing you'd have to compete for it. Most people don't have a lot of these things already gathered in large metros and its too dangerous to go around finding them. I'd say get out and go to a small town where the gun per capita is much higher and communicable diseases...like zombismismsss...won't spread as fast.
