I think I might have not approved a few people yet because they requested when I was busy moving out to school, then I forgot about them (but maybe I don't know because I forgot). I won't automatically refuse an empty journal, because I'll look at the date it was made, and the amount of comments posted, so since your account wasn't made two days ago, and your name isn't "ihateshiokazehime" or something, I think you're fine.
