Like it says on the tin.
Starting with House, as it does have the larger following:
I rather enjoyed that hour of television, though as long as Hugh Laurie is the star, I'm liable to watch anything for a good while. Did you hear he has a New Orleans-inspired jazz album out (Let Them Talk)? Heard a single off it and it was pretty damn good!
Really, though, House the character and Laurie the actor just have an inescapable pull, y'know? The familiar and yet unfamiliar dynamic was reached quickly with the clinic doctor, the patient, the various roadblocks, and a couple new allies (Jaleel White!) and some daunting foes. I do hope the clinic doctor can find another job. I was predicting half-way in that House would get out and set up a new practice or something so that she'd have a job, he being the reason she lost hers and all. But since he was right hopefully she'll be okay.
Next week looks intriguing. Of course Foreman is in charge (well, I don't know if he has Cuddy's job, but maybe now has House's?) and really, the fact that Wilson is not his friend anymore (oh, please, Wilson, you can't be out of his orbit for very long, you're drawn to the trouble) ;-) is not a surprise, if a bit sad. House did almost run over his best friend when he went plowing into Cuddy's house.
I really hope that idiot Taub doesn't show up, 'cause the fuck I give about him knocking up both wife and girlfriend is just much too small. Bring back Thirteen, sure, unless Olivia Wilde would prefer to keep her successful movie career going. I rather would like to see Amber Tamblyn (loved her!) or the clinic doctor again, too, but doubt it.
Breaking Bad 4x12 "End Times"
This show. This show. It was heartbreaking watching Walt say his goodbyes to Holly. Was Walt Jr at school, then?
That Gus would poison Brock, I just, it is perfect and terrible. I read on hitfix that ricin poisoning has no antidote, either, which means... Damn it, Gus, jesus. I knew, I knew, that there will be another season after this one, 16 eps in one season or two batches, and yet, when Jessie held the gun up to Walt's forehead, I was seriously nervous for Walt. I mean, Vince Gilligan is a master of suspense, obviously, and I could imagine something as crazy as killing off one or the other even with a season left. So glad, so glad, the team is back. It's been soul-crushing watching them fall apart.
Who else shouted at the screen when Skylar went outside to smoke? Or when Marie was playing with the baby in front of a window? "An appropriate response" had me on tenterhooks, waiting for which of Walt's loved ones would be killed first. And then it's one of Jesse's ;_;
Of course Gus won't be killed by an awesomely home-made Walt-brand bomb (yay for the return of Walt's own brand of murderous, crazy cool chemistry!); his death has to be more personal than that, more visceral or it won't be accepted.
So excited for next week! What cliffhanger will drive us crazy till next summer??
