Fringe 4x16 "Nothing As It Seems"

With my DVR, I got caught up so I could watch this live! (Well, with the occasional pausing to tweet support...)

I follow several reviewers on Twitter, from HitFix and the AV Club mostly. So when Ryan McGee said this was a remake of a boring S1 ep I did not remember, I figured well, if Olivia wasn't gonna be allowed to help out, might as well be a boring one. And I didn't care about the case; really, if it doesn't include at least two universes, much of the time the episodes aren't interesting. But I found a lot to love about this episode, really.

It was that scene where our main gang was all together in the lab, poor Lincoln on the outside after he was attacked. It was just like in S3 after P&O got together and Olivia was suggesting they get pizza, and she was so happy. She was finally smiling then, y'know? The Olivia from this 'verse smiled a lot, 'cause she wasn't as damaged and all. But that just made it readily apparent how not Our Olive she was. But now, this is our girl. Everyone was so happy in that scene, and now it's back. Because Our Olivia is back. When she was being combative with the psychologist, that was her voice, her mannerisms, our girl. So what if she didn't get all the details right about this 'verse; this universe's Olivia was okay - ours is the best. Sorry all the Alt!Livs out there, you're cool, but there can be only one. I am upset that Rachel is still with Greg, though. Ugh. We're not gonna see Ella ever again, huh? :(

Of course I feel bad for Nina because that really is awful, your foster daughter forgetting you, but I know they'll form some sort of new relationship again. Really, poor baby Lincoln is in the worst position here. He was never supposed to know Olivia and co. beyond that one case in the Blue!Universe, and even then she wasn't herself. When he was talking to her about being freaked out, reminding her of that diner conversation, I really felt that she had no idea who he was; her memories of him in the Amber!Verse are nearly/are gone. And since she never really met him in the Blue!Universe, he's a stranger to her. Poor, poor heartbroken Lincoln. He needs to get back to CT right-quick.

I mean, he's like another son (in a way) to Walter, and his scenes with Walter were the best (and not just because he was in a tank top for one of them; that bacon scene was just fantastic). But he's really gonna get hurt here. And I'm afraid he's not gonna make it out alive next week D: D: D: I'd really miss our Geeky!Lincoln. I want to see Alt!Liv with her Lincoln Lee, yes, but I don't want our guy to go so there's only one of them :( I don't want him to be another Charlie... The guilt on Olive's shoulders can only pile so high.

Oh, and Dawes was playing in Olivia's apartment!! =D That made me quite happy. As did the birthday gifts Walter had for Peter, Peter's hugging of Walter, and Peter playing with that toy at the end. And everything about Our Olivia. She was wearing the blacks and greys!! You have no idea how happy that made me last episode, and now she's wearing them all the time and she is ours again! If Walter could get back his memories too it would be perfect.

Next ep looks amazing! Amber!Alt!World with Alt!Liv's medal-winning marksmanship! Yes yes yes! We should be moving into the home stretch of this season, so David Robert Jones' plan should start really coming together. I really hope we get to see more of Olive's Cortexi-abilities; I want some telekinesis on this show :D

fringe season 4, fringe, our olivia is the very best, television
