Tumblr group

Hey,
So, I'm thinking of creating a Tumblr version of this group since things here seem dead and Tumblr seems to have the most active fandoms. I don't want to step on anyone's toes, but I PMed the person who made the previous post about restarting things here and haven't gotten a response. So is anyone else interested in a Tumblr version of Ship

As long as it links back here so I and anyone else who only has an LJ account can comment. Not everyone has or is interested in having a Tumblr account. There is literally no opportunity for discussion on Tumblr and that is one of the aspects of LJ I enjoy.

Oh, I agree. I'd rather do it here, but this plae is already here and I don't want to start a new one in case the mods here are restarting.

Someone else made a Tumblr one here: http://ship-manifesto.tumblr.com/

If you do so, I wish you well, but I'm afraid I gave up a long time ago on chasing my various fandoms around the Internet. It is way too fragmented for me.

Regarding your other point of discussion--that the Tumblr version that does currently exist has restrictions--I have no knowledge of this group, or its restrictions, but I will offer one general observation.

No one is obligated to provide a forum for that which does not interest them, which they do not like, or which they do not approve of.

In Internet Land, what happens next is that someone with different interests sets up an online community more to their own liking. Just as you are doing.

So don't sweat the small stuff, as they saying goes, and enjoy your new Tumblr group (do they call them "groups"?).

I think that would be problematic, people come to Lj to escape the crazy hive-mind folk of tumblr that will label you as whatever they think is fitting of you if they don't agree with your shipper preferences, i.e incest ships, abusive, age gaps, unpopular characters or characters that have done things that they will then deem as an unshippable and horrible character and any who like that character will be shamed and they even go so far to send you anon hate and send you virus links ( ... )

My thoughts exactly. Tumblr can be great for advertising works and knowing that you're having your voice heard via likes and reblogs, but as a platform for conversation and feedback, it's just a mess.

I agree. I'm not into that hive mindset on tumblr. I'm interested in fostering intelligent/readable discussion, and hope that this community will reactivate.
