A Tribute, Part 1 of 3

Dec 21, 2007 15:24

It has come to my attention that I have slowly undergone a fandom shift. Kind of like a paradigm shift but not. See, my first fandom was Buffy and then I fell into Harry Potter for a very long time with occasional forays into Smallville. But over the past couple of months, my focus has shifted from hell demons and psychopaths with delusions of ( Read more... )

hah, I did see your post about fic ideas that would never come to be (LOVED the nobuta one) but ITA about the lack of het in JE. or not just het, but girls in general. there's just something very closed/inclusive about JE fic that is kind of off-putting to me.

I still think of as The Great Fandom
oh, for serious. I was really kind of disappointed to see the huge gap in fic quality between popslash and JE that I just kind of gave up on JE fic in general.

and all fandoms need at least one hooker AU, no joke. or bodyswap, god, cross-group bodyswap would be awesome.

JE/het sounds like meta fic, LOL. but even when the fic itself wasn't het, the popslash girls were usually pretty awesome. but god your fic mentions make me think of all the fic I read before I got my del.icio.us account and how I must track them all down becase yes.

I kind of long for outsider fic -- fic from the POV of someone not completely brained into Johnny-logic.
oh, I totally agree. and I think it even gets to the point where the boys themselves are boxed in by virtue of their very, very limited contact with only other johnny idols. where are their drama costars/tv hosts? their managers? their family? non-famous friends? even the rumored girlfriends that induce much wank would be welcome...maybe.

bodyswap is a favorite of mine. LOL, we mock their body issues, I love it. I also think it'd be really interesting across groups because group dynamics differ so much from one to the other.

I have never listened to *NSYNC ever! But I completely adore Justin and his solo work. I never liked Justin or really even knew who he was until he went solo *hides* now yeah... Justin = ♥ I'm curious to try some NSYNC music though - so I'mma gonna dl those songs, however, I don't think I could do fic *laughs*
I remember when NSYNC was big I was a pretentious twat who wouldn't listen to pop music AT ALL. How i eat my words everyday now, LMAO. XDDDDDD

whoa, really never? well, I hope you like it. there's definitely progression from their first album to their third album. and there's a christmas album in there too but I don't have it. for pure beauty's sake, though, I'd have to recommend "I Thought She Knew" which is a cappella and GORGEOUS.

LOL, agreed. I was actually probably their target audience, but I totally turned my nose up at them (though even I had to admit they were catchy). then I discovered popslash and some really great fic and just totally caved. besides, where does "being cool" get you anyway? XD

YES. studio or live, it's just amaaaazing. ♥

and I for one would definitely not be kicking. oh, JC, spazz of my heart, please to be releasing your new cd NOW. but, yes, I hope you like his solo stuff. I know his first cd got a lot of flack for being overly sexualized, but whatever, it's catchy as hell. and those two songs off his next album are freaking awesome. yeah, can you tell I really want him to release it? XDD
