A Tribute, Part 2 of 3
Okay, so in continuation of my last post, we now move from popslash to the wonderful, sparkly world of jpop and kpop. Since I figure this is how I met most of you, I'm just doing a picspam with a few fiction recs. So...
Let's get this party started:
SECTION I: picspam!
So, basically, it all really started with KAT-TUN's PV for Real Face. And then it all went downhill from there.

okay, I don't even know what the heck this is from, but it makes me giggle.
kills me. I love this picture.
continuing in the vein of Kame/Koki, this picture is pretty awesome too.
I love the thought of blonde, rockstar Junno. even though he is so not hardcore.
and finishing up this photo shoot because it was just that great.
one of the few pictures I have Ueda, but it's a damn good one.
and Koki, for all of his gangster tendencies, is really just as scrawny and skinny as Ueda.
so for a while, Kame was my favorite. mostly because of the awesomeness of nobuta wo produce.

he also looks good in plaid. but you know who else does too?
that's right. I've dubbed this picture, gay cowboy Junno, another favorite.
so, yeah, then I went to the way of Junno.

But I quickly moved onto my absolute favorite Johnny's, that little pissy bitch Ryo, who we all love and want to smack at the same time. And by "we" I probably mean "I" but whatever. Have some Ryo!
so let's start with the "guh" part of my love for Ryo.
I know we shouldn't be encouraging this man's ego, but...omg, he's just sitting there and it's hot!
the tie! the vest! the rolled up sleeves!
he also has this way of making himself look really soft.
and pettable. I approve.
and I have this thing about backlighting, by which I mean I really like it.
and as good as the boy is at smirking, his smiles are awesome.

And funnily enough it was KAT-TUN who led me to DBSK because I watching this vid where Junno goes down a water slide and then stumbled on that infamous sing-a-long to Hug during a radio show vid (you know, the one where they're all still such babies and Jae sits on Min's lap and then gives Yunho a smooch on the cheek--AND WHO CAN RESIST THAT?!?!). DBSK then proceeded to invade my brain with a ruthless cunning and take-no-prisoners approach. So have some dong bang boys!
oh god, boys, as much as I love Tri-Angle, may you never ever EVER return to this look.
luckily, Rising Sun was pretty good to most of you. *ignores Yunho's weird hair*
BOYS.

I don't know why this boy's hotness surprises me.
every single time, it's like in between the times I don't see him I forget how hot he is.
but look at that! his arm, those buttons, the way the light falls on his eyes (FIERCE, as Tyra would say), the tie--yeah, I've got a thing for ties, so sue me.
but he's LEADER. of course he's hot. silly me.
the colors. the man. the pretty.
Jae's so sexy, it's contagious. BOOKS HAVE NEVER LOOKED BETTER.
and such a tease too.
but mustn't let Jae claim all the pretty.
because Junsu's jawline will CUT YOU.
and Yoochun is equally pretty. look at how he just sinks into the wall, so skinny! he needs food. and cuddles.
because, honestly, who wouldn't want to cuddle his stupid face. oh, Yoochun.
and with their powers combined, the Yoosu will get you too.
and the Minho, watch out for them tricksters too.
because nobody can resist sleepy cuddles.
especially since Min is equally pretty.
and equally deserving of cuddles.
or maybe just HOT, guh.

SECTION III: mini-recs!
JE
1. The Sun and the Air by meitachi (Akame): one of the first and only Akame/JE fics I read. IMO, still one of the better JE fics out on the internetz.
2. Keep It Simple, Stupid by whyjennifer (Koyato): it's spastic and cute and maybe if more JE fic was like this, I'd read more.
DBSK
1. Friends Like These by ranalore (gen): I like the slashy overtones that make this gen more like ot5, but I especially love Changmin, as the authors says, "using his powers for good."
2. House Rules by sunfever (gen): AWESOME. And that's all I'm going to say about it (because it's true).
3. A (Likely) Series of Events by dahchi (JaeMin): cute and adorable in that special Jaemin kind of way.
And that's all the recs I've got. Yeah, I don't really read JE or DBSK fic. I have this theory about how their media portrayal as idols prevents good RPF, because all the negative aspects of their personalities (i.e. the stuff that makes them real people) is hidden away so fic ends up being one-dimensional or super super angsty with death and crying. Or it could be that I'm just not looking in the right places. Or it could just be that awesome popslash spoiled me for all real person fandoms and JE and DBSK writers need to start using more hookers and less corporate hate in their fics.
So, that's all folks. I got my mom to buy me AADBSK and the O Concert DVD for Christmas and I'm only starting to watch them now, but Junsu singing Beautiful Thing? OH EM GEE, no words, guys. Just amazing. I've got Purple Line bookmarked somewhere and after seeing flail after flail on my flist, I'm thinking I need to go watch that pronto.
