UM, OKAY SO THANKS. LIKE, VERY MUCH.

I almost wanted to put in the authors note 'cameo by Nick J being all ~caring! :D'
Ohmygoshhhh. I am so glad you liked the scene with the river, because that was my favourite scene tbh. I just, it was really lovely to write? I still can't even believe this is Joe/Miley. It doesn't even make sense. And she's in a coma. What. Whattttt.

YOUR COMMENTS. THEY MAKE ME SO JOYOUS. <3

Thank you so much for the comment :)
I'm just happy that you liked this even if you're not a fan of the pairing.
Some of the lines read like poetry
I mean, wow, thank you ♥

Also, so does Miley Cyrus in a coma
I have to admit I lol'd :D

There’s a flickering glow. It’s always out of sight, just sits on what seems like her peripheral vision. Sometimes it gets closer, or maybe she gets nearer. It’s not something she thinks through, unimportant, insignificant.

She doesn’t know how long it’s been, or where she is, or who she is - god, who is she? - when the light expands, eats away at the all consuming darkness, until her whole universe is made up of nothing but pure, pure white.

There’s this high pitched whine, and it keeps getting clearer and clearer, acutely focused until it’s splitting her head open and she just wants it to stop, she needs it to stop.

It’s only when she’s slipping back into the suffocating darkness that she realises it was her own screams.

GOD BETH THIS WHOLE PARAGRAPH.
YOU KNOW I LOVE MILEY, RIGHT? SO THIS WHOLE THING LIKE CRUSHES MY HEART BECAUSE YOU WROTE IT SO WELL AND BRILLIANTLY AND PAINFULLY AND THE LAST LINE JUST ABOUT SHATTERS MY SOUL.

I LOVE MILEY, TOO, AND I FELT LIKE SUCH A HORRIBLE FAN FOR WRITING THIS, LIKE, WHAT WAS I THINKING PUTTING HER IN A COMA JFC, BUT THE IDEA WAS SO GOOD, SO I COULDN'T LEAVE IT ALONE AND AKJHSGKJSHGFD.

She’s six again, all wonder and curiosity. Her father tells her “Don’t go too close to the river, okay Miley? Promise me.” It’s a simple promise to make, but one she doesn’t keep.

Because I can really imagine six-year-old Miley being consumed by curiosity and wonder and being a little reckless soul who is just drawn to the river away.

But her almost drowning breaks my heart again.

I kind of freaked myself out at writing the drowning scene ngl, because I nearly drowned when I was about that age, and it brought back the memories and akjghjfgkdfgj.

No no no, we don't want your heart broken, Amanda D:

He sings because it’s all he can do.
Sigh. There goes my heart again.
