A/N: my writing style is getting more and more incomprehensible and complicated. Inspired by
xekstrin's prompt: the sky.
It’s sad and ironic and, on some sick level, a little justifying that they’ve ended up like this, the elite Talon Commander and herself. She sees it - obvious really - the man sinking in the heavy coating of contradiction, precariously dancing with the boy trying to play Sky Knight, who is simultaneously letting his morals and ideals slip, fade, be misplaced with every question and glance, the man beginning to get lost in the dark emotions where the boy is the revolving centre of everything, and if there’s anyway to have him, it’s to drag him down in the tumultuous process.
She sees a little clearer though, can focus through the obscure haze to find the exceptionally captivating girl who’s potential is utterly unlimited and uncorrupted. She can see through the simulated smiles, the caring careful words with which she handles her friends so perilously. The talented girl is merely an outlet to them, getting drained with each coming question, favour, demand, until there’s nothing left but an empty shell. She plans to take that shell, though, fill it with possibilities and doubt and wonder until the girl realises where she clearly belongs in all of this, what she is destined to achieve.
So she’ll let her drift for now, here and there through the empty blue abyss, where she’ll pretend that she cares, that she really wants to waste her life away with people who don’t even listen, understand or comprehend her mesmerizing complexity. The girl will come to her eventually, like a bird to its cage, and when that day comes she’ll be ready with lock and key.
