I think a lot of people expect us to be the bitter para, since we're inherently aggressive by virtue of our age and gender.

I can't stand that shit either. If somebody's going through the door at the moment, then fine, holding it open an extra second or two is common courtesy. But when they see you coming from a dozen yards away, drop everything they're doing, and run to the door like OMG GUY IN WHEELCHAIR HE CAN'T DO THIS HIMSELF OH NOS@!!!1 there's no other way to feel other than that you're being pandered to like a fucking toddler. It's pretty annoying, especially when a lot of us have something to prove to ourselves and to the world in the way of asserting independence. If I want your help, I'll fucking ask for it, you brain addled shitsock.
