Actually, given the April Showers-May Flowers connection, that could be quite lovely! It might be hard to get really long strips, but I could totally work with that.
Cut it up and sew the pieces together to make a trendy messenger bag!
I miss my raincoat from 6th grade that was beautiful shiny glimmering mother-of-pearl colored and simply fabulous. (Meaning, naturally, that I was teased unmercifully for wearing it because beautiful & fabulous != conformist = acceptable 6th grader attire.)
ooh! I could even sew the "this coat belongs to" patch onto the inside (my parents still live at the address, so the bag/coat/whatever would still get home).
