I missed the race, but coincidentally, I'm reading The Black Stallion's Filly today and just got to the chapter where they're deciding whether to enter Black Minx in the Kentucky Oaks or the Derby! (This being That Kind of Book, of course they put her in the Derby and she wins, I already know that ... actually, I've read the sequel, and she ends up not winning the Preakness or the Belmont because she falls in love with one of the runners-up, Wintertime, who gets injured in the Belmont, so Alec and Henry buy him from his owner and take both horses back to their stud farm for early retirement while Black Minx's dad goes back into racing. Bizarre! And yet kind of sweet!)

Rags to Riches really is beautiful, although I'm neutral on chesnuts. Really, thoroughbreds never come in my favorite horse colors :p.
