Magic

Today I am writing drafts of people using "magic" in the setting for my novel. I've refined how it works, but I want to see how it executes on the page. Our task list: fix a broken wall, be effectively invisible, become popular, and obtain a 2014 BMW i8.

Are these magic tasks in the book, or on your own to-do list?

I doubt any of them will make it into the book. This is a set I chose because they're diverse. I'm also assigning each one to a different character, again just to make the sampling representative.

I just had a thought of a way of doing magic that wouldn't really work, but is interesting in theory. A reality changing magic, that instead of showing anyone performing magic, just have the results exist. The BMW, example, never mention the car, maybe even mention there is another car, and then end a scene with the character jumping in their BMW, and driving off.

It would be confusing, I don't think it would work.
