What do I want to be?!?!

Gah! Why does figuring out what I love to do have to be so dificult!  Well, maybe because I'm 27 and can't wait much longer to a) look into school b) go to school or c) get on the path to a career or find a career.  I keep bouncing back and forth between ideas and I can't seem to figure out what it is I want to do or what I will want to do for the

I would note that HR is probably not a good place to go right now. A lot of companies are downsizing and/or consolidating HR functions; my company is moving to more and more self service on line and job eliminating many of the HR jobs completely. Other HR jobs are being consolidated so instead of multiple people in each city/region of the company we have one area with real people near the home office and everything is handled via phone/internet/email.

I can't say for certain every company is doing that, but from what I heard from the HR person I talked to when my old position was job eliminated in December, she was very glad that when her job got eliminated (which will happen before the end of this year) she was going to be able to take early retirement as the job market for her skills was not good.

So I would NOT recommend going the HR route. I do hear that event planning is a growing field, but again, no solid detailed knowledge.
