Watching the sunset over the beaches

We went to Floreat tonight to capture the sun as it sends its last rays over the country before it descends below the line of the Indian Ocean to start a new day in the northern hemisphere. It was wonderful. Made me remember a quote I used to love ( Read more... )

That sounds pretty cool! Merlot is pretty cool too. Northern Hemisphere? That reminds me when I wrote in creative writing in Year 9 something like, "We're at latitude 180 and longitude 27."

I am insanely jealous that you have polite construction workers. In West Perth the builders would start at 05:00, even after I complained to the local council.

You're right!! WA has some of the finest merlot yielding land anywhere! Particularly in the deep south around manjimup and franklind river. (where the goundrey grapes are grown on contract) the Widyabrup valley (a small valley near magret river)is also, in my humble opinion the finest patch of land on gods green earth. Home to such places as Gralyn Estate, Happs estate wines, Woody Nook, leeuwin estate, Moss Brothers, stella bella, suckfizzle, watershed estate, redgate wines.... oh i could go on and on!

If you ever see it i recommend you try the Woody Nook Merlot (2001 if you can find it) its fantastic!

yes woody nook (giggle) they even have a nice port called nookie delight with the picture of a couple canoodiling on the label, its all rather funny
