nayung gave me:
Takano Masamune
Without any hesitation. Because he is pretty much everything I love in a character. Megane!guy, cool seme but actually warm-hearted and kind of weak in his own way, straightforward, and with that oh-so-sharp tongue. He also carries a heavy past and is a tormented person with very, very intricate feelings, trying to drown himself in work so that he will forget about the rest. I should probably not say this but he does remind me of my mother.
Izaya Orihara
Without any hesitation here as well. I love him as the ultimate "villain" of the series. Although we do not know much about him, we can infer from the anime (which is the only canon base I have to write this so do correct me if I am wrong or misinterpreting) that he is rotted to the bone, manipulative and deceitful, and sees humans as nothing but pawns he can move and sacrifice just as he pleases. For once, the hero is really mean and distorted and I could not help but fall for him.
Akira
The choice is a bit harder here as I do love Shiki too but was too dissatisfied with his voice to keep on loving him. I was expecting something darker and manlier, not that nasal and lame voice (sorry, but Hikaru Midorikawa is a seiyuu I fiercely hate. Just do not ask why, I cannot stand his voice) so it has to be Akira. For something absolutely trivial but I love his fighting style, his voice (Toriumi Kousuke, who also voices for example Saitou in Hakuouki) and his... outfit. Yeah. I want that jacket of his. And just accept the fact that he is classy, is all.
Aoi Kakeru
Heh, last but not least, a fandom that deserves to be much more well-known, as it is
nayung's webcomic which is as awesome as its creator so please do drop a visit at
her website (though it is almost completely in French). So my favorite character would definitely have to be Aoi. First impression, first squee, first "oh hi there cutie" when I discovered the series and I love his chara-design, the role he plays in the story, everything that he epitomizes (courage, determination, tolerance) and the strong personality he has despite being an uke really struck me. He also is a complex character and that definitely is one of his strong points.
flo_nelja gave me:
Hei
Once again I have no hesitation. Hei is a... very tortured person, once again. He stands between his role as a non-human weapon, feelingless and meant to kill and his wish to live normally, desperately struggling to show everyone and himself that yes, he does have emotions. I think he wants to feel alive and is therefore looking for a reason to be, something/someone to achieve/protect. Not to mention the fact that his fighting style rules all, his outfit (aozprubgsduotgb his JACKET! his MASK!!) and design are made to be awesome and loved. I must add that I also like his conflicted relationship wish Misaki, though I totally ship him with Yin.
Ciel Phantomhive
A bit more difficult but also a bit predictable regarding what I said about the previous characters. Tormented soul, dark, strong personality... BUT. Ciel does have something more. Something unique and crucial. He is a child. A child who went to hell and back and wants to take his revenge. A child who sold his soul to the devil just to achieve his ultimate goal and that makes him terribly awesome in my eyes because I doubt many people his age would go that far. Yes, fictional characters are made of this, I know. Also, he being a child allows him, in my standpoint, to be even more cruel than the average hero. Children lack sense of measure and preservation, they sometimes do not realise that they are in danger, or the consequences their acts/words will bring upon them. Careless but at the same time very meticulous and calculating, he does have his weaknesses and fears, which shows us that he too can stumble and fall and needs someone to be there for him. There is more to him than meets the eye, me thinks.
Arcueid Brunestud
Thinking of it, I do not really prefer any character from this series. I do not feel much from them even if I like them all. But I would still go for Arcueid because FINALLY, a feminine heroine who is NOT whiny or overly girly or exaggerated. She certainly is a vampire but one that tries to overcome its nature, suppress its most natural need and is doing its best not to be a burden in the process. I say "big up".
Edward Elric
No hesitation this time too. Ed is brave, fierce, stubborn (oh so stubborn ♥) and always picking a fight with anyone and everyone when the greatest fight he is actually into is with life itself. Although at the start he is running after his and his brother's bodies, with the passing of time we start to wonder if he does not change his objective into a desperate quest for the truth. I like that in him. Oh, and I should also make note of the fact that despite his young age, he can be mature and very accurate in his comprehension of the adult world. I do not completely see him as an adult but he must be what is the closest thing to it.
And that will be it for today folks! Feel free to ask for four fandoms as well!
[EDIT] Got four other fandoms from
starrose17 so here are:
Raito Yagami
Definitely. Because hell yeah, charismatic anti-hero. Smart, gorgeous, calculative, ambitious; he is somehow the modern Icarus and I love that. Oh how I wish they would have ended the series after L's death and not made six more useless volumes just to say "the bad guy cannot win, justice will prevail"... Seriously, fuck moral. Raito was the best, had overcome everyone so there is no way he lost to Near. Period.
Xerxes Break
Akira Ishidaaaaaa ♥♥♥ Break is just pure awesomeness. He gives me the creeps but I love that in him. He is mysterious, scary and somehow a little a selfish but deep down he still is a good guy and has a heart. I love him teasing Oz and Gil and how he always complies and indulges Sharon, saying that it is because of her mother when in actuality he likes the girl for who she is. Twisted guy, heh. Me loves.
Aidou Hanabusa
Bastard <33 And HE IS SLASHY, just admit it. The way he loves Kaname is both cute and twisted, childlike yet mature as he would do everything for his leader. And bonus points for him always scolding Yuuki (well, later on he does calm down and respect her but. Still, he cannot help but make fun of her and she being a vampire does not seem to make him hold his punches). Love you, Aidou. Big time.
Taki and Gou
Sorry, but I cannot decently choose one of them. They are a pair, they work as one, they are too complementary to split them up so no, I love them both, single and together, and their alchemy slowly working out is made of win. Big up to Makoto Tateno for creating such a perfect team.
